Cash, digital money & the new era of control
The other day we had a discussion with my friend at work how the governments slowly want to gain total control over us with slowly taking the cash in paper form out of the circulation. We are being under surveillance on our every step in modern world today through our mobile devices, credit cards, fitness trackers, Smart-TV´s, Alexa and Siri and many other devices and technologies. The last "freedom" that we still have is cash in paper form, because all those technologies can't detect the transaction that we've just made. After extinction of this form, ALL what you do with your money, could be supervised. The list of countries leading in cashless payments starts with Canada on first place, Sweden on a second UK on third, France and the fifth place is US.
Now let that sink in a little bit... Do we actually want that? Do we have any options of avoiding that supervision?
I think yes. The answer could be cryptocurrency.
There are many cryptocurrencies on the market today, also the market is very volatile, so it doesn't really give the feeling of the long-term-safe-investement, BUT if someone want to make a transaction that shouldn't be traced, it is already perfect. Many people think of doing something illegal when they hear "transaction that couldn't get traced", but for people who appreciate their privacy it makes perfect sense. Let's just take a look what Facebook did with all that users data.
Now if we think in the way that governments would ban cryptocurrencies, I´d say with certainty "so what". They would do that market a favour. Banned things mostly starting gaining attraction which means prices could only go up. Also exchanges that are decentralised are starting popping out like mushrooms. That's why I am certain of cryptocurrencies´s future.
Gold was and still is one of those currencies that are not traceable. If you buy gold with cash today, no-one knows how much you have it locked somewhere in a safe. Even when you sell it, you can sell it for cash, so the transaction is completely anonymous. NOW if the cash won't exist anymore; you'll have to buy it with a card and also sell it for digital money... OR you could buy it for crypto and also sell it for crypto. There are already many services doing this without any problem.
So, if our governments force us going 100% cashless, I have no fear about it. In 2009 new era of digital money was created by Satoshi Nakamoto so the future doesn't look so bad after all.
Stay safe and positive guys!
PS. This is my first post, so don't be so harsh on me ;)
