I am no musician, but I do love music. Yes, I like it loud, but I also look for bands that stand out on their own. I will share some fantastic tracks. They are fantastic because I say they’re fantastic. Let’s get on with it.

1. Manic Street Preachers: International Blue

I have been a big fan of Manic Street Preachers for 26 years. They are from Wales. This is a new song, ‘International Blue,’ and is taken from their forthcoming album, ‘Resistance Is Futile.’ Despite the band’s longevity, they still strive to keep themselves fresh. This song is wonderfully catchy, it feels like they’ve been listening to lots of Electric Light Orchestra. But the song itself reflects the mood of people that have been left behind by the today’s political climate.

2. Reigning Days: Renegade

I’m going to my local home town, Torquay (and Teignmouth), Devon, England, for this next band, Reigning Days. I have been lucky to see these in the local pubs around the area. They are destined for better things. They seem to be getting heavier which is attracting the attention of Kerrang. Their songs are epic, this band have a lot of talent. Watch out, these could be big. This song appeared on Reigning Days EP from 2016 and will appear on their new album, ‘Eclipse’ in April 2018.

3. Von Hertzen Brothers: Sunday Child

A hidden treasure from Finland, the Von Hertzen Brothers are a band you must seek out if you like classic rock music. I have seen many vocal legends, but Mikko Von Hertzen is possibly the best vocalist that I have seen live. Their music could be classed as progressive rock, taking in inspiration from Queen, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, amongst others. This song is taken from the album, ‘New Day Rising.’ Not only is this song great, but the video shows great shots of Finland. I’ve never been there, but it looks beautiful.

4. Queen: Spread Your Wings

Sometimes people forget that bass player, John Deacon, wrote a few classic Queen tracks. This one is an often forgotten gem from ‘News Of The World.’ It is a classic rock ballad and Freddie’s vocals are amazing as ever. There's not a lot more to be said about Queen. Just listen to probably the greatest rock band ever.

5. Moriaty: Pulp Fiction

I am going to finish with another great band from my local area, Devon, England. Moriaty are a two piece band, who are wildly entertaining live. This duo make a nice dirty raw blues rock sound. I hope this band break into the big time, they have the talent. The first album, ‘The Devil’s Child’ is a great album. This track is taken from the following EP, ‘Pure Filth.’ There is an album number 2 on the way.
