Excuse me, dear reader, for I am going to take your precious time, claim your esteemed attention, take hold of your mind for the time we have together, and waste it all on news that's so fake, that it would put a Chinese "Rolex" to shame... At least Achmed the Dead Terrorist was a FUNNY fake terrorist, much unlike the ones we'll discuss right now...

Furthermore, I have to warn you that I am not in the best of moods, quite angry actually; the only reason I'm able to sit still enough to waste both our time, is because my anger is equal to my despair and puzzlement. I kid you not: what I'm going to talk about is unprecedented in modern civilized society, and a sure sign of the spiritual, intellectual and cultural devolution of modern man. Conditioned as we are to mindlessly consume everything that won't challenge the outer limits of our mass-media induced 30-second attention-span, anything that doesn't pose a threat to the comfortable feeling of superiority, endowed upon us by the successes of our world-conquering forefathers, maybe I shouldn't have been overcome by these emotions while listening to Trump's announcement of "his" latest "victory" in the fake war on terrorism.

We've seen this movie before. "Important Dead Terrorist - Part 1" played before our eyes under Obama, when he proudly announced that U.S. Special Troops had finally killed post 9/11 boogeyman Bin Laden, finally allowing parents all over the western world to assure their children that there's no Bin Laden under the bed or in the closet. We all remember how, in that glorious moment of renewed western superiority, a ginormous weight was lifted off our collective shoulders, how the days and starry nights became a little bit brighter... NOT! Bin Laden was a CIA asset, was described in British newspapers as a heroic liberator when he fought on our side in the 1980s and 1990s, against the then prevalent boogeyman, the Soviet Union. We armed him. We trained him. We loved him.

The terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 will be unreadable in future history-books, not just because we'll probably never know what really happened on that day, but because that page will be as black as the ink of the actual text. After wishing for a "new Pearl Harbor", the neocons united in the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) got their wish fulfilled on that dreadful day. They've had their eyes on Iraq and Afghanistan for years by that time, as part of a much larger plan "to preserve and extend its [America's] position of global leadership" by "maintaining the preeminence of U.S. military forces." This was written in one of PNAC's most influential publications, "Rebuilding America's Defenses: Strategies, Forces, and Resources For a New Century". This catastrophic event, the shock it caused in the collective minds of the world's population, was used to great effect, as they managed to to make us agree with the invasion of Afghanistan and later Iraq, when these countries had absolutely nothing to do with the attacks. This single disaster has shaped the world's history to an extent that's unprecedented; everywhere conventions were made for colored threat-levels, everywhere our freedoms were infringed upon by the security state that was deemed necessary to protect us from future Bin Ladens, we wage perpetual wars that have no clear definition of what a "win" is... I'm still furious that we've let this crime of the century be shoved under the carpet, the many questions surrounding that day be erased from our minds, for a large part by keeping us afraid for the next attack, and celebrate every modicum of "success" with banners that say "Mission Accomplished". Oh, how well they've played us.

When the Leader of the Free World can get away with simply CLAIMING that Bin Laden is dead, while giving no proof whatsoever, and does so after the same Bin Laden has been declared dead or terminally ill several times before, in mainstream media no less, we really show how short our attention-spans are, how short our memory is. And Bin Laden isn't the exception, but the rule; Saddam was OUR Saddam when he fought against Iran, Assad was OUR Assad when he served our purposes... But Bin Laden was the antagonist in part 1, and now Trump presents us with "Important Dead Terrorist - Part 2", with the role of Al Qaeda replaced by ISIS. As with all sequels, there's considerably more action and special effects thrown in and the CGI has been perfected. Where Obama was rather calm and collected when he directed his movie, Trump throws all considerations about modesty, leadership and political correctness overboard, fully indulging in his narcissistic personality, and proudly claims a starring role for himself while he paints a gross and graphic picture of the death of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Truly, it is beyond me that anyone is still able to take this spoiled man-child seriously about anything at all, standing there, bragging about his latest video-game victory like an adolescent boy who's used to always get the best and latest consoles and games.

"... He died after running into a dead-end tunnel, whimpering and crying and screaming all the way. The compound had been cleared by this time with people either surrendering or being shot and killed. Eleven young children were moved out of the house and are uninjured" Trump bragged before the assembled press, building in dramatic pauses and raising his voice ever so slightly while pronouncing key words like "shot" and "killed". He continues: "The only ones remaining were Baghdadi in the tunnel, and he had dragged three of his young children with him... They were led to certain death. He reached the end of the tunnel as our dogs chased him down. He ignited his vest, killing himself and the three children. His body was mutilated by the blast, the tunnel had caved in on it in addition, but test results gave certain, immediate and totally positive identification; it was him." Hearing this, my mind immediately dragged me back to the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks; wasn't it convenient that we had such clean and positive identification of the perpetrators only days after the attacks? Didn't we find a completely intact passport of one of the Saudi, not Afghan or Iraqi, hijackers amidst the rubble of an Empire State Building that was literally disintegrated? How convenient. And how convenient to have us rely on your word alone mr. Trump and mr. Obama.

Like I said; this sequel is just more of the same under a shiny new surface with more action and totally new CGI; attention-addict Trump even went so far as to fake a picture, showing him watching the operation in the president's "situation room"; we all remember that picture of Obama and his staff watching the Bin Laden operation, and of course Trump could not be outmatched in that department or any department at all. So they staged his photo with his staff... So childish, and so unpresidential, and so incompetent, and so fake. Maybe it's because deep down we all know this is fake, that it's just a show we need not really pay attention to, maybe that's why so many people still appreciate Trump. That he's at least honest while being fake, and not try to cover up the fakeness by acting all statesman-like, like his predecessor... I don't know. What I do know is that this man manages to make the hairs in the back of my neck stand up, and that I've taken enough of our time, dear reader.
