Introduce Yourself In The Comments & Meet Others & Compare Interests - Weekly Edition
After the success of first initiative like this here ( 71 comments !) . It turns out this is a decent virtual “meetup” of Steemians it seems and lets them talk to each other.
I decided to make this a weekly post. If you like what is going on here def. Copy and paste it in a post yourself!
Here is what we have typically been heard about from people here:

one of the most common complaints I hear from people with young accounts is it is difficult to find a following. I agree it is difficult to find others who might be interested in your posts. Don't feel too bad even those of us who have built an audience are feeling like readers are a bit scare right now.
I couldn't agree more with this statement. I suggest you take the time and write a bit about yourself and make it compelling no follow for follow post really think out what you want to say and why you are here!
So, what brings you to SteemIt?
P.S
Elder Steemians are free to drop a comment to remind people what they do! this is open to to anyone, plus it helps get the convo going!
I do like to tell a good tale, and the one that brought me to Steemit is an excellent. Going back some two years I made terrible YouTube videos, including vlogs - somehow I crossed paths with @old-guy-photos and we kept up with our own videos (his were popular, mine were not). Then Paul started to tell me he had joined this platform where you really could get a reward from your work - because YouTube was giving little for views and in fact not so long after stopped monetising small accounts at all.
So I joined Steemit, made posts and they got pretty much zilch rewards - nothing, nada - 0.0001 sbd - nothing. Months I kept posting and got pretty much nothing, totally bemused at why I saw other people getting upvotes and rewards - my content was not amazing but certainly better then others I saw getting decent rewards.
I think that frustration drives the retention problem we have on Steemit - it took me months to work out my mistake was creating a post and waiting for people to find it and like it - that never happens.
Once I worked out what I needed to do was far more then create a post - but sell my post - and myself by interacting with others, commenting on posts making friends, relationships - community bonds that would bring people to me and my content - only then did I see how Steemit works and the potential you can grow from.
Steemit is a stage, and our accounts make us entertainers - we are here to entertain people and the more we do the further we will go - and to entertain you have to find people - like yourself that wish to entertain and be entertained. Once you find that balance - and realise your posts are not important your comments and sharing of others posts are - then you will see the rewards grow and your content spread throughout the community.
We are all made of stars - all we need to remember is to show everyone else we are.

I think everyone needs to be honest with themselves. We’re on steemit because somewhere along the line, we want to make money. Simple as. Of course, it’s easy to say we’re here to make friends, yadayada but again, it’s mostly about the money.
I’m here for exactly that... or so I thought. You see... I know that steemit isn’t the gateway to a fortune. I know I could write better posts but in truth, I see no point in forcing yourself to write a top of the range post. Just write how you want and be true to yourselves. Everything comes to those who wait. I’m still waiting... for a lot of things. There’s nothing I want more than to feel financially comfortable but currently, I don’t feel like that will happen. My issue comes from I keep myself in a rubbish low paid retail job. I know I’m worth more but I seem to be stuck in a rut. The truth is, we get out of life what we put in. I’ve dealt with a lot in the last 24 months which have made me put my life on hold. But I hope and pray that the clouds will pass and something will come my way to pick me back up.
I think that’s why many of you are here also - not only to make money but to have somewhere to vent. There’s only so much of Facebook I can deal with. How many of you are the same? Above all, try to be happy, even if life sucks. It’s a lot worse for others out there... remember that. Take care and thanks for reading :)

I joined steemit as a passive source of income, but now looking at my journey so far, i think i am enjoying my stay with meeting and knowing many users and reading some interesting contents.

Hello everyone else, I go by the Artists Name Ravenking and I am an multi-media artist, most of my focus lies in my music, but I also love writing and have self-published a small book last year. I have a great interest in esoteric and philosophical topics.
I have been trying hard to establish myself independently the last few years, but living in Luxembourg this has been tremendously difficult. My writings do not attract a lot of people since I write mostly in English, and the people I know locally from my region do not read much and if they do they generally stay away from english.
The Music scene is very limited and necessitates contacts in high places and very difficult for a fledgling musician to be heard. In general the art scene is very limited and only recently has seen some efforts to improve on that dimension.
I am hoping to find a community here that is actively engaged and looking not only to create a following for myself but also looking to find people of interest to follow.
Feel free to check out my page, if music, writing or art interest you. I also am a self-taught silversmith if that interests anyone, would be glad to post some content on that topic.
So glad you were able to find a home there!
The music scene is very hard I couldn't agree more. I think as long as you stay around you'll find a good community to hit up on. Very cool you have a self-published book last year. What kind of book did you do?
I like the fact you have a lot of interests you are into. You'll find a good home here!
Yes in general the arts seem to be a harder scene to get a solid foundation in. Where would the fun be though if it were no challenge at all :)
The Book is a compilation of all my poems and short texts which I started writing at 18 when my father passed away, asking a lot of deeper questions about life, that led me on a crazy journey for many years and nearly 2 years ago I published the book in its first print edition, marking the completion of that phase of life. Now 27.
It is a distillation of what I experienced the years following that event and where it led me on my inward journey. An alchemical concoction of written words. Many of my poems or short texts that I added to my blog are from my book.
