This Is What Happened At The Steemit Meetup In Ibadan.
Sunday May 14, 2017 - the first Steemit meetup in Ibadan, Nigeria.
About four days ago I put out the idea to have a Steemit meetup in Ibadan. Ibadan is Nigeria's largest city by geographical area and has a population of over 3 million people.
Of the 3 million inhabitants of the city of Ibadan, only four people turned out for the meetup. Yeah, that was to be expected because we basically didn't do much planning and this meetup was targeted at folks who were already on Steemit.
Tasks for the day.
- We were able to vote for STEEM on the Twitter poll by BTCC.
If you are yet to vote, as you can see, you need to hurry. STEEM needs you.
- Shared the Steemit image (modified) on Instagram and other social networks. It was through this that I was able to find out that @arkintea had an account here! Genius idea! Haha!
Questions asked were compiled together with answers to them. This will be shared sometime soon as a guide to newbies on Steemit. There were so many questions but I'm excited now because we have a better understanding of how Steemit works.
We also decided to use at least one of the tags #nigeria and #ibadan as the last tag(s) on every post made. This would make it easier for the #nigeria community to grow as they discover more folks from the region.
It felt like a weird process having a "serious" hangout with the boys but we did it, lol. Everyone feels so inspired to share their posts on Steemit and these posts should have been up already but I delayed them. I apologize for the delay. It has been a very busy week for me.
