Tomato Fights Colorectal and Stomach Cancer
Qatar's primary health care organization said in a leaflet on its Facebook page in the "Vegetable of the Day" series, tomatoes contain a substance that can combat several types of cancer.
The substance is lycopene, a red phytochemical.
Lycopene can fight colon cancer, rectal cancer and stomach cancer.
It is necessary to eat tomatoes in a healthy and integrated diet that focuses on vegetables and fruits and whole grains and reduces the red meat and unhealthy fats, and to practice physical exercise regularly.
