@make-a-whale is a community project to create a whale that always supports its feeders. You support it and it supports you. It upvotes each member once in a 24 hour period. @make-a-whale will post each day, that post needs to be upvoted by each member. There is also a bonus 100% rotational upvote.
We have worked out a scale that will make sure @make-a-whale always upvotes you with a bigger upvote than the one you used to upvote the daily post, if you post on average once a day. Thus, the fair scale ensure you always win!
There are some members who support the project with larger upvotes and this is greatly appreciated! The more we grow the more members we can recruit and the larger upvotes we can give.
To participate you need to post good original content, have a Reputation of 50+ and 500+ Steempower.

Lease expiring
With MAW's 5K lease expiring soon we will make another lease on Sunday. As always all donations from members are welcome! We can only invite more members as the project grows so let's grow and help get some more members on board. =)
NEW UPVOTING RULES
In the past MAW has tried Steemvoter and Streemian, both gave us some issues in the past. Lately, Streemian is just extremely unreliable and Steemvoter has stepped up its game being extremely reliable. We have talked with the creators of Steemvoter and they assured that their system is pretty robust at the moment and the only reason upvotes might not go out is because of node errors. Lately, the nodes have been pretty stable (compared to when MAW first tried Steemvoter).
MAW has been jumping back and forth a bit when it comes to the upvoting of MAW posts. We apologize for this, the steemit services have their own issues that are out of MAW's control. It was a testing phase.
From now on you can pick how you upvote MAW:
1. Steemvoter - The best option recently.

2. Join the Streemian trail - Too unreliable lately -

Streemian is just too unreliable so we will eventually phase it out completely.
3. Manual upvoting - if you do not like using Steemvoter you can manual vote.
MAW will check the upvotes each SUNDAY. Skipping more than 4 per week will result in a reminder. Failure to catch up before TUESDAY will result in being removed from the voting pool for the week. Thus, it will be your own responsibility to make sure your upvotes go through to the MAW posts. =)
And the winner is... STEEMVOTER!
MAW's final recommendation will be setting up a Steemvoter account. We gave both systems a run and honestly Streemian is great, when it works... It just has too much downtime to be reliable.
Once again MAW apologizes for the back and forth of the automation testing. We have been testing and appreciate the patience. From now on we will stick to Steemvoter.

So nice to have Streemian working as it’s supposed to again! I understand that this solution will be phased out over time, as it’s not as reliable as we need it to be. When it fails – or when it’s not being used by MAW anymore – I’ll do my upvotes manually. I usually give 100% VP manual upvotes to MAW and my Streemian is set to 50% VP upvotes (because when Streemian is working, it drains my VP pretty quick, due to other curation trails I’m following).
All in all our baby-whale’s swim seems to progress pretty well so far, aside from some turbulence and hiccups in the first couple of weeks of its life. Hopefully the second month will go much smoother! And, I guess, the more members we get, the most stable the project’s growth will become. It would be nice to get to the point of self-sufficiency, when MAW’s author and curation rewards are enough to pay for the lease of SP, without having to rely on external injections of capital. And, at some point in the future, even leasing SP will become unnecessary, once MAW’s own SP is adequate to reward its members with hefty enough upvotes. I look forward to that future situation and I’ll be helping however I can to bring it about sooner!
Also glad it is working and really fast as well. Was surprised at how soon the trail kicked in! Yeah, MAW decided we can't really control how the votes come in, we can set up the streemian trail and we can give instructions to help automate things. In the end it will be up to each user to make sure their votes come in.
Our baby whale is doing really well, happy with it so far. Still some kinks to work out and with time it will only get better. I am also looking forward to a future full of members. I was thinking of making invites equal to the number of days we are active (a bit over the limit now) but then one member can be added per day. Will be on a frist come first serve basis. They need to apply to join in the daily post. That we we can see some steady long term growth while still keeping our upvotes pretty big for our devoted feeders.

Hi @make-a-whale, unfortunately I missed joining by a day. I tried to get delegated SP from minnowbooster but the first time it was not filled.
Do you know when it will be possible to join next time or it all depends?

Hey, @make-a-whale, since one of our 40 members is still waiting to get her rep up (she’s almost there, though), maybe we could let @theleapingkoala in at this time? Because she fulfills all the membership criteria and she leased SP from @minnowbooster specifically to be able to join this project. I think she’s earned a spot. What do you reckon?
I actually added her yesterday. Feel she has been supporting all the way and fit the requirements. Now we are at 41 in total. =)

The rules are basically to stay awesome and post good content. Upvoting the daily MAW post and then sit back and relax. We manually check all votes each sunday, so you can set up steemvoter for automation or upvote manually. Up to you, skipping more than 4 days in a week will result in a reminder. We also have a discord channel so pm me or @gingerninja for the link. There are some promotions and extra gifts in the channel =)

Oh, yes one last detail. The fair scale was designed to make sure we always give back more than we get at the minimum voting weight.
The math is
50000 / (your steempower) = (your required voting weight)many thanks. will keep that in mind :)
