#MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle - One of the local markets of Díli, the capital of East Timor
Hi there, my dear Steemians!
Here is my post today to the #MarketFriday, initiated by my dear Denise <3!
My #MarketFriday today will be about one of the local markets of Díli, the capital of East Timor, the Taibessi Market :))
This is the biggest market in Díli, and it's the place where goods are much cheaper there than in the more strategic and central areas of the city, where the foreigners (locally called malae) usually buy them.
So, this market is always crowded, with locals and also retailers that buy the goods there to resell them later, and more expensive, on the streets or other smaller markets.
I was there for the first time, and intend to go more often, as the prices are really inviting! I bought a huge papaya for 2 dollars! Just figure! amazing, isn't it?
Products are fresh and organic, and the offer is huge. The market has also other areas where clothes, homeware, live stock and everything else you can imagine are sold.
And then, the people, the hustle and bustle of the market. This is my favorite part! It's a dream for any street photographer! At least it is for me! I couldn't stop pressing my shutter!
I hope you enjoyed the visit!
Thanks @dswigle, the sweet host of this wonderful challenge!
This is also my entry to the amazing Streetphotography by @photocontests and @juliank :)). Cheers to you too, my friend!
Have a great Friday!

I like your photos and interesting story. You have very well conveyed the atmosphere of this market. Such places with affordable and pleasant prices always attract more customers. Large selection and variety of goods is always a good option for shopping in one place. Thanks @nolasco :)
Thanks so much for your kind words, @madlenfox, I truly appreciate you liked it! Thank YOU!

La magia de los mercados: mil rostros, mil detalles, mil colores. Fantásticas fotos
Muchisimas gracias, Juan! Te visitaré mui pronto! Hace tiempo ya que no lo hago!
That market certainly is a dream for street photography @nolasco. So much to see, so many interesting faces, so much colour.
Do you ask people before you take their photographs? Are most people happy with it?
I always try and avoid taking photographs here where the people would be identifiable. 😁
Thanks Gillian! In fact, they ask to be photographed! And when they say no, I obviously respect their will. But it's the exception, far from being the rule!
That's wonderful @nolasco. What a great opportunity for you. 😁
Indeed, Gillian! I have to grab it while I can ;) :))!
Thanks, my dear Pix!
