RE: NewbieGames Bingo - Make connections and have fun (over 5SBD in prizes)

I have no idea who Ian Anderson is, but I think I have changed the rules of bingo so much that you are not the only one not to understand it :D

Basically you have to fill in a 4 x 4 grid with 16 names chosen from the list of followers on the @newbiegames account, and as in bingo you have to make a row, column or diagonal by matching the names on your grid with the names called out.

The time limit is starting from when the post is made to when the post expires (so the post can't be edited anymore), so it gives you as much as 5-6 days to enter.

You can see how the draw is made in this post (you don't even have to lift a finger, except to claim the prize):

Thank-you, got that. From @newbiegames, draw my sixteen in box. I will have to await the next one @fibrefox. I do know some of those who posted here but I didn't know of @newbiegames, and wouldn't have read sixteen of them. Thank-you for the opportunity. It looks like a good game to participate in. But, again, I'm having trouble with timing, as so many of you live where you are awakening just when I'm fatigued and going to sleep. If you run it on a weekly basis, then I might read some more postings first.

I noticed that you are from a similar part of the world so I am curious why you are not following @teamaustralia and getting some support from @centrelink and also some mentoring from the more experienced users: https://steemit.com/teamaustralia/@choogirl/team-australia-new-recruits-14-02-18-and-do-you-fancy-yourself-as-a-tor-mentor-of-newbies

Well, months ago, when I first joined steemit, no-one here ever replied so I didn't know there was such available. I am not computer oriented and have not had instruction since the eighties. The last time I had access, in from the bush, I had XP Office, and just as I learned enough of it they made it obsolete. Which was BS, because they have still not produced any better software. So the big boys at the top of the industry have killed the internet as a system to make communication easier, and have just conned every commercial body into buying updates time after time after time. It may be faster, but a program that worked very well is now many times the cost, split into umpteen separate sales, and doesn't do the job half as easily from the user's point of view. I've heard the arguments, but have also employed myself, on the side, as a gatherer of information to make up reports, because I can attend the state library and access five author's and precis one page in the field of the query from each and have them bound and on the committee table, faster than any in an office on a single screen computer scrolling, looking for the field and then the page and then the right paragraph. A Co I used to work for had secretaries who each wore no more than three hats. Were very good in one, learning a second and sufficient in a third. The managers knew their areas and clients, but the senior secretary knew everything that went on in the office. Digital arrived. The Co now employs six more people. It's overheads have increased, and I don't mean the expected increase of time. And no-one knows all thats happening or even all their own hats. There are no specialists except IT fixers, and the profits are less than when I was there.
--Sorry, I just had a brand new Dell have to be returned to manufacturer because IT couldn't fix, and that after a day of back-up, but not all, so lost two years photography. My IT techie says I carry a lot of static, and computers don't like me. I know, that sounds esoteric, and not computer logic, but we have both experienced things that 'are not computer' logic. I understand that those green icons will take me elsewhere to sites. But I am not very competent and at the moment have only my phone. Keep on keeping on. 😇

Excellent from my quick first couple paragraphs. I will read later tonight. Vote, for this comment rather than old post, and as old post with no esteem oblong arrow, you have just given a resteemed from me to a newbie, tonight too. Thank-you. It looks well worth some time.
May the blessings be. 😇

It's unfortunate to hear that you didn't have such a good experience when you first joined. I don't have any faith in technology being able to solve any problems that are caused by people, and the modern day office stops once the internet or the computer stops working, which makes me wonder who or what is doing the work. If you are mostly on your phone and posting photos, try the steepshot app and also zappl as they are the equivalent of instagram and twitter in the Steemit social media ecosystem.

Thanks for that. I tried steepahot but couldn't understand how to get it to work, so am using Snapseed. And I have no idea at all about twitter or instagram. Ian Anderson quote 'vintage or classic or maybe jurrasic' suits me. Old Jethro Tull fan. 😀
I don't know about zappl but am not on IPhone. 😇 All these new phones are amazing. I have had mine six months and still have not learned half what it can do, except NOT auto spell, before post. 😡😂

Zappl is just a web application so it should work on any phones, I don't use twitter much but it is good for pictures and short texts: https://zappl.com/

Steepshot also has a web application if you find that the Android app doesn't work, but it uses your existing Steemit account for posting content: https://steepshot.io/

Yes someone told me of steepshot, but snapseed seems to make my photos into IMG quite well enough. Thanx.
Query. You mention, or possibly davemccoy did, newbiegames having 50 on their list. But, I've looked into newbiegames and most posts are resteemed, so where or how do I find the list, please. I have easily got sixteen for a board but you specify those in newbiegames, so¿
Thank-you.
BTW, I have no idea what all that steepshot can do or what .io means, or how it different than posting from snapseed. Truly not a computer user. Put to post on steemit by one of my young, I am not enamoured of the community so far. There are far too many who pick on others, rather than mind their manners and do their own stuff. Robot drivers for instance seem to think that the parameters they gave their robots are the All, of any similarity. They want private discussion, so appear afraid, they are wrong, and will not discuss on steemit in full public view. When a non-interlocutor tells a human this is that IS SO. BS. Robots should not be enabled to post anything other than a query, 'this is similar to that, please explain'. Non of the drivers appear to have the time or inclination to actually read ALL the blog posts and comment posts and reply posts, Before making arbitrary decisions which affect human life. They are guilty of copy/paste with every post their robot makes. The robot site wallet has more $ than any newbie they attack, but has NIL posts of an original nature itself, and they also cross comment on posts about other posts. Robots are very good for finding stuff, but ARE NOT interlocutors, and cannot belong to human community as they just run programs.
Sorry about the vent, cross comments by nasty drivers who earn $ by destroying others reputations, by Not having read the posts, piss me off.
So, basicly, just asking how to raise the newbiegames list. Thank-you.
