#Makemesmile: The Things He Says

in #makemesmile6 years ago (edited)

So, our family has been going through some trying phase recently, with some new changes coming (No, I am NOT pregnant!) and speaking for myself, my soul is downcast on some days. However, this is not the focus of this post because I found many positive things around me too.

I have been watching my @littledrummerboy recently and I noticed he loves to match his colours. Sometimes, he can be quite particular about it. I came into the room, watching him do his things.

This is him matching his coloured cups with his respective Paw Patrol pups with the different colours.

If we disrupt his "strategy" by purposely mismatching them, he would turn and looked at us and said, "Noooooo!"

Another round of matching them on the floor.

Oh yeah, there is this funniest thing he has been saying. If you noticed, there's a Mr. Potatohead in a Captain America's costume among his pups. Instead of Mr. Potatohead, he calls it "Mr. Topato". He swapped the syllables around because I think perhaps he has yet to get it how to say 'potato'. Lol.

Assembling his Mr. 'Topato' and made it go for a slide, he said.

This time, it is just the Paw Patrol pups, arranged according to the rainbow colour sequence. He has been bugging me to get Everest, because she is purple, by asking me, "Hey Mummy, where's purple? Everest is purple."

Recently, he is very into starting his words phrase with "I think...... ". So, he is sounding like an adult with a lot of things that he thinks.

"I think... It is over there!"

"I think... It is blue, Mummy!"

Today I was trimming his front hair. After that, I asked him, "Can I trim your hair again? There are some parts that seem a bit long."

He replied, "No, mummy. I think.... Scared." So, I explained that I will be careful and won't hurt him, so he doesn't have to feel scared if I have to trim it again. Then he said, "Okay!" (But I'm pretty sure he will be struggling again when the time comes!)

He really says the cutest things these days. I lined up the letters of his name, L-E-V-I, and asked him, "What's this?"

He replied me, "Hey, that's me, Levi is me, " pointing to his own tummy.

Another thing that he always says recently is, "Mummy, put down phone. " or "Daddy, put down phone." which makes me feel quite guilty. If we still continue to use, he would snatch our phones and put them away for us. The most 'serious' case was he took his daddy's phone, ran out from the room and placed it on his mat outside, making sure it was far away enough. He would do this while giggling because he thinks it is funny.

Daddy's phone was 'confisticated'!

We learn that he wants our undivided attention more, so yes I will reduce my time on Steemit as well as Discord for his sake.

Just last night, he said bye bye to his daddy. His daddy asked him where he was going and he said, "I find Mummy." Actually, I was just in the kitchen for a moment and was about to get back to them.

All these little things that Levi has been doing, make us smile (and laugh too)! He is such a joy and he has been laughing at the most unexpected things, like Squirtle on my Pokemon Go, which I seldom play anymore. I love growing up with Levi! He's the most interesting person I know (with much biasness as his mum) :P

Thank you for reading about my parenting life. This is an entry to @elizacheng's #makemesmile contest. Because of her contest, I have always been finding things in my life worth smiling and appreciate the people in my life more. Do check out her contest!

@happycrazycon, you make me smile. It is not easy being a working parent, but the kids did teach us the right thing to do at the right time. It is either we treasure along or miss it, always choices at our own hand.

Hehe thanks for the understanding @liewsc. Are you a homemaker? I am mostly one too, except for two to three hours a day in tutoring. Yeah the children are making us not miss the important moments!!! :)

@happycrazycon, I am a working mum. But spending time with kids in morning and after work definitely the sweetest moment. Always can't wait to see them.

Such a BEAUTIFULLY heartfelt post @happycrazycon! We are ALL FAR too guilty of letting technology take over our lives. I take my hat off to you for having your priorities in the right order! xxxx

Awww. You are so sweet with your kind words @theluvbug :) I was very off technology and gadget for the past days besides my own post of the day, hence sorry for my late reply. In fact I took the morning off to actually catch up on my replies in case Steemians thought I have disappeared or stop engaging! :P

I love chatting with children Levi's age. They are learning and it can be amazing to hear what comes out of their mouths! My 2 year old niece is very talkative and it's always fun just to listen to her. She is learning her colors too, though 90% of the things we point out are still pink to her haha. Her and my youngest both love Paw Patrol, and they always want to play with his Marshall and Chase when she comes over.

Me too @keciah!! It makes me feel like as if I was waiting for this stage to come since he was born. Lol. Anyway, I know the talking will increase soon and very soon and I probably would wish to retreat into some quietness but I so wanna enjoy now!

So nice to hear of your niece's talk too. And yes, THE Paw Patrol right? I was out catching up with my friend and her boys and all the boys ended up with talking about the Paw Patrol again! Everyone was saying the individual tag lines for each pup, so amusing to watch! :D it has brought strangers together, as powerful as Steemit :P

recently I’ve also learnt to put my priority on my family as they really bring me true joy. it does mean less time for Steemit and Discord and other hobbies as I’ve got a full time job as well. but I’m much happier. less stressed! :)

p.s. are you missing Skye for a reason? ;)

Haha yeah man @calebleejl. I wanna put him as the priority and don't want to get too carried away with Steemit or Discord. Another priority I have to give now is also to rest haha.

Skye has been there all the time, the pink one there? It's Everest we are missing. He knows his pups well and now there's a new one called Trector or something, a jungle pup. Looks quite cool too. Hehe. Learning all these with him is fun!

oh! I failed to see it when they were in a row. my bad. yours one are the bigger cooler ones with some mechanisms. I went for the mini figures. they have Trekker, Robodog and the boy which I forgot his name! :)

p.s. when everything is sorted over there I’ll bring my boy over to play if it’s cool with Levi ;)

Haha yes it is Trekker. Yeah will let you know when we are more sorted out! :) The boy's name is Ryder :P Wow you have Robodog too!

Actually ours is really small. And haha he used to like to bathe them, so some parts are rusted and I had been trying to remove the rust.

Put down phone.. yeah i hear this always.
"Put down phone, i want you to play with me"...
I know how you feel because i feel the same way.

Hehe yeah lo so we put down phone lo. See I reply you dunno how many days later only haha. I got listen to my boy ah!

Parent should spend more times with their kids. Great job!

What a beautiful "mommy post" @happycrazycon! You have made the right decision, NO doubt!!! putting our children first is SO important, because we are ALL they have, and truth be told, they are all WE have!

xxxxxxxxx

thank you sweetie @jaynie! I did put my phone away for a week so now I'm replying all my backlogged comments for over a week. Hahaha. That is with me being away from him, else it is impossible to be done without him throwing my phone away again! Lol. Hope all is well on your side xxxx

Everything is great thank you @happycrazycon :) Good luck with all the catching up... I know how much I looooove doing that lol (not!)

I love that you wrote, "I love growing up with Levi."

That is the best part of parenting for me, all the new things we get to learn as parents! It's not always easy, sometimes it's quite difficult, but it's so important to give ourselves grace and remember that we are learning to be parents as much as our beloved children are learning who they are in this world.

Sounds like Levi has a very good role model in you.

Thank you so much my fellow steemmamas :) I love that you said:

These are the KEYS for parenthood! Looking forward to hear you more @crowbarmama. If you don't mind me asking, why @crowbarmama? :)
