Controversies...regarding Magicdice.

The thing is that ever since @magicdice team announced that they will change the distribution rate, people play like crazy. And that's because for every 1 steem you wager you earn 50 magic tokens. It is just incredible that over the last 4 months the total distribution reached 23.6% of the total, and in just 3 days went from 23.6% to 28.2%

Just incredible...

I don't really know how I feel about it since some of the early players who have invested a lot to this game, used to earn 12.5 magic tokens for every 1 steem they wagered. Some hold millions of these tokens...but don't forget that they have also invested a lot.

But according to the team...

The old token distribution halving rate was too high. New players would only get very few tokens compared to other players before them. Especially after the next few halvings.

Even though it benefits me a lot at the moment, as I collect their tokens way faster, it is always weird when rules change all of a sudden.

Now, in case you wonder why people gamble so much the last days, it is because when the distribution hits 30% the new rate will be 25 tokens for every 1 steem wagered. At 40 % it will drop to 12.5% and so on...

So this is a perfect opportunity for some people to collect as many tokens as possible before distribution hits 30% and that's because the more Magic tokens someone holds the higher their daily dividends (steem-wise).

The distribution rate for the tokens will be halved after 10% of the player supply has been issued. So far 23.6% of the player supply have been issued. That means the new distribution will be 50 MAGIC per every STEEM wagered (We use the same start distribution of 200 MAGIC). After 30% have been distributed, the rate will be 25 MAGIC. After 40% have been distributed, the rate will be 12.5 MAGIC.

Nobody questions their credibility of course and neither do I. It is a provably fair game...nonetheless it is...gambling.

I think that in the next 36 - 48 hours we will be at 30% of the total distribution.
