Before I can even begin to find the words to describe what it was to be, photograph and create on the reef at Shellharbour to Bass Point Marine Reserve, for the last four days, let me simply share this one photograph.

Wow Ally, your photo really captures the magic in your moments at the harbor. I am so hoping that next fall I can finally make a tour of Maine as it looks so similar. It has been in my heart to go there for years. I can feel the beauty of the coast calling me even through your photo. Awesome! Resteeming darlin.
It's such a joyous feeling to know that this image from a part of my 'world' can remind and connect you to an area in your part of the 'world' @sunscape.
I've always loved being by the coast ~ And the few days I had, walking along the beach of Shellharbour, absorbing all her 'life energy' were so precious.
The ocean had been calling me for a long time, to stay for more than just a few hours here and there ~ And when she calls, eventually the time comes when you find a way to answer. I truly hope you will find a way to follow your heart to Maine this fall.

I cannot help but compare the moments in this shot, the peaceful existence of the pool of water and the excitement of the rolling waves. They work magic together.

So delighted that this image could transport you to this magical place Denise. At first sight the reefs look a little on the dull side ~ Just these dark grey brown bumpy rocks ~ But the more I wandered over them, the more magic I came in touch with. A vast seascape of so many contrasts.
A bright glow still shines in my heart and already I yearn to go back there as soon as I can.

I was able to be on the reef at sunrise on two of the mornings. So wonderful to see the sun rising over the ocean.
Oh! Lucky you. I live so far from the sea that it always seems such an amazing place when I do get to visit.
I did feel SO blessed Melinda. It took me over three hours to get there though, from the time I left home and caught a train into the city and then another to the closest station to where my brother is building his own home.
He picked me up and gave me a tour of his home (in progress) ~ Which was GREAT. He then drove me to the 'beach hut' where I was to stay.
I always wanted to live by the ocean ~ I actually did once, for a year ~ A lifetime ago and another story. Whereever we live, can be magical ~ But yes, there's something about the sea that really calls to our spirit isn't there? Even though you live far away from the sea, I hope you have the chance to go there from time to time.
Thank you for sharing this blissful magical moment Ally :) This takes me back to many fond memories I've created along the ocean as a child (full body "god-bumps" and all). I can feel the coast calling out to my Soul for a visit....and your post is certainly synchronistic indeed.

Nice shot. I love exploring the intertidal zone. As for Shellharbour, I won't tell you how many years it's been since I was there. Lets just say that Malcolm Fraser was still Prime Minister :-)
Thanks so much @mostly.nature. That was truly some time ago. Maybe some of the images, still to come, will rekindle lots of memories you must have.
I'd never been to this area before and it was so hard to leave. The longer I stayed on the reef, the more I saw and felt open to. It's one of those areas that requires a different way of seeing, for one to see all the beauty that is there.

Always a pleasure Patrick. I'll be sharing many more of the magical moments, I was so grateful to feel, by the ocean this week. Shellharbour became a very special place for me, as I began to realize it had quite a history.
