Saturday of suspense: "The faceless woman of the Rinconada"

The land of the Taragui is the poorest province of the Argentine Republic, this is the reason why the province of Corrientes took many years to develop, even today there are places or places that lack the minimum needs to live with dignity, such as drinking water, sewer, electric light, these lack of services make these places conducive to the development of urban legends.

Welcome dear friends to another Saturday of suspense, the urban legend of today happened in a spot in the province of Corrientes called Rinconada, a small town away from all the services that the city can offer.

The following story is inspired by the legend "the fleshless" this legend has at least three versions, one with Salvadoran origin, the other Aztec and finally the Ecuadorian version, by our Indian ancestor, the version that best suits my land is the Aztec version, although the story is slightly different, is inspired by this legend. Basically speaking of a woman who can not give birth, in those times these issues were punished by society, for that reason the woman will be responsible for the atrocities that occur in the town. A chilling legend that begins like this.

A long time ago in the time of the colonization of the Guarani people, in a small town called La Rinconada, a small village of Indians was established. In it lived a brave warrior with his beautiful wife, unfortunately his beauty did not serve her much, she was unable to give birth to a child.

If she were not the wife of a respected warrior she would have been expelled from the village, according to indigenous beliefs, a woman who is not capable of having a child is because she is cursed by the gods, consequently bad omens for the village.

The peace that reigned in the land without evil was interrupted by the invasion of new colonizations, the brave warrior had to leave to face the war and defend their lands, leaving the beautiful village to the mercy of the village.

Days after the departure of the warrior, his beautiful wife felt a pregnancy, for this I prepare a sack with provisions, dumb clothes abandoned the village in search of his beloved husband, the news was very important and could not wait for his return, there was even the possibility that the warrior would never return alive from the war, it was vital to travel and give the important news to the brave warrior.

The beautiful girl did not know that she was observed by the other women, within the limits of the village no one could touch her, it was different if they found her outside the territory, so she barely crossed the lake that delimited the land was attacked by women of her same tribe.

The ladies gave a great beating to the young woman, threatened that if she returned to the village the beating would be bigger, worse if she told what happened to her husband, the blows were so great that she lost her pregnancy, her only hope of being a mother and being able to giving a son to his beloved went away, I cry for several days the death of his child.

The hatred and resentment that this woman acquired was so great that the devil came to his consolation, Satan himself granted the beautiful young woman the power to turn his face, a creepy face, the bravest fear. The woman had the power to turn her face, removing all the flesh leaving only the bones and teeth, in this way could avenge the death of her son without being discovered.

The young woman returned to the village, it did not make any sense to look for her husband, there was no good news to give, to see her return, the other women were disconcerted, could not believe that the girl was so brave and return to the village After being threatened, now they were the ones who were afraid, they did not know with what intentions the young woman returned.

The girl's face changed completely, it was no longer the expression of a sweet girl, now her face conveyed adulthood, hatred and revenge, since her arrival every day at nightfall there were cries of help and despair that came from the jungle .

The woman of the warrior began to avenge the death of her son, taking advantage of the darkness of the night, kidnapped one of the women who had beaten her, tied them and carried them into the jungle, there she dismembered them alive, leaving the belly totally empty, if he met a pregnant woman, took the fetus and killed it and then hung from a branch of a tree, this was the horrible way to avenge the death of his child.

The dead women began to appear in the forest, those who found them could not believe that there was a person capable of doing such atrocities, in the face of continuous attacks, the men of the village began to make night watches.

From that day the dead men in the village and the women in the middle of the forest appeared, the village was convulsed, nobody had an explanation to what was happening, to make matters worse, the men who remained in the village were ordinary people, the brave warriors went to war.

The cacique of the village ordered the men to stand guard in a team of two people, one of them had to remain hidden, the only way to know against whom or who they were facing, that is how one of the guards could see hidden It was a woman's face, which killed men as if nothing, the men to see her with the intimidating face remained motionless, she took advantage of the situation and with her own hands he would bare the men as if they were simple chickens.

The days went by, the men of the village felt unprotected, they did not know how to face this woman, meanwhile the woman killed all the women of the village, when she finished avenging the death of her son and wanted to leave the massacre .

This enraged satan, he was present to remember that she had a pact with him, she was the one who asked in her own words the power to kill all women, never specific that it was only the women of her village.

The evil woman had no choice but to keep her promise, every night she had to leave the village to hunt and kill women from other places, no one ever suspected that the one who killed was the beautiful woman, every day at the end of her hunt. his face had a beautiful face again.

One morning the war ended and the brave warriors returned, the news they received was grinding, they could not believe what had happened in their absences, what most struck me that they killed all the women except the beautiful young woman.

Now it was the warriors who claimed that it was a witch, taking advantage of her husband's absence tied to a tree to facilitate the faceless woman attack, if dawn alive could establish that she was the woman who became a demon .

The next morning as expected the woman woke up without a single scratch, before these tests the cacique could not do anything to stop being burned alive, put firewood on his feet and set fire, the woman was consumed in the flames, never A single complaint was heard, it was consumed in the fire without emitting a sign of pain.

From that day it seems everything went back to normal, the warriors looked for new women in other villages and formed a new family, the days passed, just a year after the death of the young woman, the deaths of women in the village returned , now more bloodthirsty than before, every night a pregnant woman appeared dead in the villages, the notorious and different from before, was that she killed several women in one night, being a ghost could travel several kilometers.

The deaths were so many that it became an urban legend, several were the people who claim to see a woman without flesh in his face wandering in the dark places, there are countless accounts of midwives who claim to have seen the presence of a ghost woman faceless in the act of childbirth, who echoes the cries of mothers giving birth to their children.
