All my shit got stolen a.k.a Foreigners in Peru with nothing left a.k.a Tourist police is nothing, but a freaking joke.

in #life7 years ago

I and my girlfriend are in hostel now (little do they know that we have zero of everything). I am writing all sad, a little angry, and super crushed. Is it possible to pay a hostel in Peru by SBD?... I will laugh from this one day.

Long story short: All our shit got stolen in a local bus. It means that we have no credit cards, no money, no IDs, and only each other (at least we are safe). Sadly, there is no place to go.

The most devastating part is that we brought a thief into a police office. It was so obvious and everyone knew it, but sadly nobody gave a shit. We just sat here for a few hours, I tried to bargain with a thief in my broken spanish, he said "I don't know anything", police officers laughed a little, and we all went our seperate ways. Like in those freaking movies. So remember that you are on your own in a foreign country - the law supports locals. At least I got a photo of our lying thief conductor.

This guy told so many lies in those couple of hours, but police didn't even try to listen. Believe me people - it is devastating when you see a freaking crime in front of your eyes, but you can only sit and cry. In thief's defense - if you cannot prove someone guilty, he is not... Gotta love our justice system! Amzing and stunning! Anyway, there is that 1 percent possibility that someone else has stolen all the shit. Such a relief.

Merry Fucking Christmas! ho ho ho!

So I am still laying in my bed. I could actually cry, but maybe I won't. Me and my girlfriend are both super homeless at the moment. It is not a great feeling. (Note to myself: you have to help to those in trouble. All the time)

Bright side - breakfest is included in our hostel, which we have no money to pay for. I still wonder how they will react when I will tell them that I wish to pay in Steem. Priceless stuff.

Remember friends - nobody gives a shit about you, except you. With all due respect - fak de poliz and fak de thievz. I hope Karma is reading this stuff... just for the sake of justice.

Please, I ask you with all of my heart, start being better to all the people. There shit pile in the world is already huge enough, so let's at least flush a little by being good people.

Classical traveling story. Once again - Merry Fucking Christmas.

P.S. I feel a little better now.

Sorry to hear all your stuff was stolen. You will probably have a better chance paying for stuff in bitcoins than in steem b/c steem is too new.

I can send a few bucks in bitcoins if you provide a address. I just hope someone would do the same for me if I was in such a situation. I know it must be tough being in a third world country, broke, and barely able to communicate.

Is your return flight pre-paid? Do you think you'll be able to leave the country?

@fulltimegeek I appreciate your concerns! I think I will do for now. Got some cash from my brother via Western Union, so things look brighter now!
Yeah, the good thing is that I have been traveling for 10 months now, and my skind is a little harder than it used to be. We are just taking this blow, learning from it, and carrying with the trip.
I have my flight tickets on February from Argentina. Two months to go. Gladly, our passports are safe with us, so there will be no problems in traveling between the countries!
Thank you again for your concern! I really appreciate it. I will use that bitcoin help when someone will steal the rest of the shit :D For now, it looks like we might survive. Sadly, we were prepared for the 10 days trip and stacked with some cash... Gotta love this life lol

That is so awesome and generous @fulltimegeek! I was thinking last night that I wish I had some way to help him out, but the extent of my crypto-currency is what I've made here the past week and a half- and even that is tied up in steempower, haha. But I will definitely remember your offer to help him :)

that really sucks.

hope you make it out safely.

Things are better right now. Got some cash via Western Union. Still tired, but positive vibes are coming back :)

Shyte..... that is NOT cool.

No at all lol. Though, it will make a good story after a while, when emotions are settled.

How did you go with leaving the hostel with no money?

I took a shot and said that I will pay tomorrow lol. And during the night, my brother transfered some cash via Wester Union.

I'm sorry that happened to you. You should offer to trade some service t the hostel you're in.
Don't stress too much, most people in Peru are really friendly and will be willing to help you out. Stay positive, remember that this kind of stuff can happen when you travel, and remember that it's okay, you will learn from this.
sending positive vibes your way.

Thanks, @danilamarilu! My brother sent us some cash via Western Union. My bank is blocked and still have 2 months to travel, but there are alternative ways.
Yeah, it is not the first time for us. However, last time we had another credit card with money left. Life continues! Have to keep positive all the time in order to be happy :)

I sent u a little steem to keep abundance flowing. good luck !

Thanks, @danilamarilu!!! That really keeps me going. I think that I and my gf are surviving this pretty well. Some financial loss is taken, but hapiness must come from within anyway :D

yay :)
safe travels and steem on!

I will! Thanks again, whenever you need something, just let me know! I am here to help and I owe you big time for being so cool!

Oh no, that sucks my writing friend!! Damn. I have noticed that the 'universe' likes to test original, free thinkers. "Here's an awful situation, what will you do with it?" Maybe you can think of it as an unintentional adventure? Write down your impressions, take a lot of pictures. I've never been to a hostel, I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in what it's like. Well I am. I care, just so you know. "And this too shall pass" Something I tell myself when shit happens, because on this plane of existence shit always happens.

I totally agree with you, @dreemit! Things are better after a night's sleep and getting some cash from my brother via Western Union! Trying to figure out how to solve the rest of the shit, but we will just swallow that bitter pill, and continue the journey! Two more months left on the road. It has been 10 months already. I have seen a lot of stuff, so those inconviniences cannot demolish me anymore :) I will write about hostels one day, as I have been in so many around whole Central and South America!
Thank you for your support! It really helps!

Of course! You were one of my very first friends here, so welcoming and encouraging. I always want good things to happen to good people :) And you are acquainted with J.L. Seagull, which immediately makes you awesome! I'm glad things are looking up :)
