Internet & Cable are back after Hurricane Michael
It was just a week ago that Hurricane Michael devastated Florida. The storm hit west of where I lived and we were extremely lucky it did not come closer. Had the storm hit 30 miles east of where it did our town would be wrecked.
Still, there are people in our town without power. I imagine in the next week or so, everyone else here will have their power restored. People in the small towns west of where I live will have to wait a while longer. And in some cases, much longer! From some reports I have been hearing a few months.
This past weekend I took some video and pictures of the devastation in Blountstown where my girlfriend has family. They were all okay thankfully but had damage to their homes.
Even though our power was restored Saturday morning our cable and internet was still out. Luckily, we have the capability to open a hot spot for internet and can connect an antennae to at least watch some tv.
Tonight though, the cable and internet came back on!

Sorry to hear that...I'm glad it wasn't worse where you were at. By the time it got here it was just a lot of rain in Atlanta.

Being on the west side of a hurricane is better than the east.
East is wind and rain. Glad to hear life is returning to normal. Getting back power and internet especially in the hot summer nights is awesome.
Yeah we were on the east side of it, but luckily the eye hit far enough west of us that we only got high TS, low hurricane cat 1 winds
Holy cow! Back to civilization - well almost. Hang in there!

That's crazy! Those poor people who lost their stuff. I hope the insurance companies do the right thing and pay for the damages. What am I talking about? That's just crazy talk. :(
