Why Sometimes Adversities Can Be Stepping Stones Towards Success

Life, as they say, happens in all colours. Well, actually, it was I who said that in one of my older posts. I figured that from the moment we are born to the moment we die, life throws at us, a plethora of good and bad situations, ranging in emotions like the colours of a rainbow.

It’s this dynamic nature of life that makes it so beautiful in my opinion. As they say, you wouldn’t know the value of light, if you never experienced darkness. You wouldn’t appreciate happiness, if you were never sad.

And that is the point of this post. During times of adversities, when the roller coaster of life is taking you down with it, you tend to feel lost, the very meaning of life and also why it happens time and again.

That’s all natural and no one can be blamed for feeling so. I do however, would like to suggest, if I can, to remember something in those times, which we quite often forget.

Turn Your Adversity Into Stepping Stones

There is something that my mom likes to say quite often, “As gold becomes purer and purer the more it is put through fire, we human beings also get stronger and stronger the more adversities we face.”

It is things like these that keep me going even in the most horrible of circumstances in life. And it is things like these that have taught me that even adversities can serve their purpose in our lives for our growth and development.

What do we do when bad times befall us? We do whatever we can to look for a way out, right? We search for solutions. This might entail enhancing some of our skillset or networking with new people, or to explore the unexplored venues, or any of the other hundred things.

The point is that adversities force us to come out of our familiarity bubble, and while that might be scary, it is the very thing that makes us grow. I mean think about it, every time you went through a rough phase, you came out stronger and more confident, didn’t you?

It’s All About The Mindset

Our default mindset is that we hate the rough patches of life because of course, no one likes to be sad and tensed. Everyone wants to be happy and joyful. But we need to change our mindsets a little.

We need to recognise that adversities are a fact of life and they will come, sooner or later. Better embrace them as an opportunity to learn and grow, than to shrivel up and do nothing.

After all, life is all about learning new things, becoming someone more and these are the ingredients for success and to achieve your dreams. Sometimes our own dreams require us to be the person capable of handling them as reality.

So, change your perspective a little and try to find something positive even during the darkest of hours. It really helps to have that realisation that one day, those moments will come in handy as ladders to success.

Sort:

The harder you get hit, the taller you stand.

I agree with you the more you deal with shit, the more you get used to it and move forward.

It sure makes you stronger!

Yeah! You are right....obstacles in the pathway are stepping stones for our success

That's right!!

Hii sir @sauravrungta ..did you hear about byteball??

@sauravrungta amazing bro..
really very true things are told...
the most amazing part I liked is "you wouldn’t know the value of light, if you never experienced darkness. You wouldn’t appreciate happiness, if you were never sad."

I liked these lines very much...
so great sir..

Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate it :)

You’re absolutely right, I totally agree. This message I preach everyday in my daily motivation series.
One has got to learn from each mistake in life as it’s a lesson unto perfection
You’re appreciated for this enlightenment

Thank you for the kind words. Yeah, we got to learn from our mistakes to keep making ourselves better.

I am taking few things from here which i could completely relate with-:
1.We would never experience the value of life till we are not very close to the death. I have seen life changing attitude of the people who encountered near death experience. There is nothing more important than life itself. Wonderful Point about we never see the importance of anything until its not gone.

2."So, change your perspective a little and try to find something positive even during the darkest of hours" and if you couldn't find any thing positive during the darkest hour, then go to your mom and ask her "Mom, How much pain you had felt when you gave me birth? and tell yourself I am not giving up because my mother didn't give up. She could have choosen an easy way(abortion), but she wanted to see her champ and now that I am her Champ. I wont let her down. " Get your ass up and bounce back like never before.

Thanks for sharing, mang. I appreciate wisdom.

That's so true. We never realise the value of something until it's gone or even when we are just about to lose it. We always begin to take things for granted, and this is one of our biggest drawbacks.

That I think, is a perfect example to bounce back. Just talk to your mom and ask her about the immense pain she experienced while giving birth to you. Your pain wouldn't even compare to hers.

Indeed,True.I happened to talk some of the people and ask them about their regret They said,"Probably,They couldn't give time to their Moms after they got busy in life and how their mother deserved the best" and I feel, yes that is true. After this incident I try to talk to Mom everyday. She is the only one who is selfless about me and a source of constant inspiration (Though, sometimes too much and i said " ok Mom, I am full"). Anyways, Thanks for sharing your insight.
Blessings to your family:-)

This article is a very valuable one and it's one of the best I ever read on the STEEM blockchain. I remembered the book I read some months ago, titled Tough Times Don't Last, Tough People Do, which explicitly explains what you have just written. Honestly, you changed my mindset and there's something wrong which is bothering me but, I've just have a positive mindset that it's solved and an opportunity for me to even learn more and grow. Thank you for this inspirational post. Stay blessed ❤

Thank you so much. I don't think it is one of the best though lol. But yeah, I believe in what I'm saying. I am happy that you were able to solve whatever was bothering you.

Yeah, thanks a lot
