Cats in the cradle #1: Kittens in the house!steemCreated with Sketch.

Are you prepared for cuteness overkill?

Then follow me on a yourney, we made about 2 years ago. Our two cats were 2 and 3 years old, when we decided to let them have babies together. Our tomcat is a black ragdoll and our cat is a grey tabby house cat.

It was not the first time, we had kittens, and the last time went pretty well. We had found a loving home for all 7 (!!!) kittens our MaineCoon was able to raise. This was a long time ago and our own children had reached an age where they understood a lot more, were able to be careful and also were so interested in the world. This turned out to be a great experience for them.

Let me introduce the parents:

Then the magic happened (well not really magic, but loud, wild animal sex) and about 60 days later we prepared for a feline delivery. We offered Lilly numerous spots to choose from for her forthcoming birth and she chose a children´s toy carton.
As we knew what do do we had everything perpared to help, if needed. But Lilly is a perfect mom and she delivered 3 healthy kitten in less than an hour. We were allowed watching... (I guess our cat really likes us)

We were now proud uncles and ounts of three cute, nice kitten. One kitten was completely black, called "Raven", the next kitten was light grey called "Chaya" and the last kitten was black with a little white, starshaped spot on the chest, called "Starlet".
As our cat really trusts us, she let us help, clean up the birthing box and weigh her kitten...

Hard work done... now its time for sleeping, eating, sleeping, eating and sleeping again.

In the next chapters I will share with you the first steps outside the birthing box and the development of the kitten during the fist three months. So follow me for updates and the next chapter of "Cats in the Cradle"!

This is a 100% power-up post!

Oh, they are so cute! We've also had our fair share of kittens, but have spayed all our females now. I am looking forward to the follow ups!

Yes, we spayed the cats, too. But it´s part of life to have at least once the possibility to reproduce... (there may be other opinions out there, but I don´care ;-) )

I agree. I had two females and each one had two litters. Once at the same time! That was enough for us and we spayed them!

In Germany the breeder lobby suggests not to have ANY kittens, but by breeders (300-600€ per animal). They also only sell animals that are already spayed. Interesting marketing strategy... how to keep supply low and demand high.

Mmmm....I've bought an expensive kitten, and it was so neurotic. I much prefer "ordinary" cats.

We also have most of the time mixed cats, like our ragdoll... (who is in fact as big an hairy as a ragdoll, but has different colouring and different eyes)

They really are... although at the moment they are more monsters than cute... Daddy had genes that made them very BIG...

I like them all but I'm in love with Chaya.
Would you consider to use the #introducemypet ?
It was an idea of mine I think makes sense :)

Yeah... I wanted to safe the information for later, but now that you mention it. My wife was´t able to give away Chaya. She still lives with us.
The # is a good idea. Will use them for the next chapters of this series.
