When it's all been said and done

Earlier today, I ran to him anguish. I told him about my sharp argument with some people. I lamented how I feel people are ungrateful and don't really deserve you making any sacrifice for them. They will enjoy hundreds of benefits from you without showing gratitude, but the minute you make a single mistake, they will capitalize on it to criticize you and never remember when they benefited from you.
He carefully listened as I lamented. Then he said,
"When you do good for people, do not ever expect them to appreciate or pay you back for your kind acts. If you do so, you will become frustrated with life. A lot of people are not loyal. Do not expect anything from anybody. However, a time will come when we would leave this world, long after we have departed, our riches will mean nothing, only what we deed for loves reward will truly matter."
Again, for the second time, his words soothe my troubled heart.
When it is all been said and done, all our treasures and wealth will mean nothing. Our beautiful skin and faces will decay. Our cherished shoes, cloth and cars will wear out. Only what we did for love's reward will stand the test of time. Only how we imparted on other lives will matter.
If they don't appreciate you, never mind. Do not be discouraged. The right people will one day immortalize you for your works.

This is really a strong one this morning. Sadly very true, people don't remember you for the clothes you wear or parties one attended but for the good deeds. Human are naturally ungrateful, always wanting more. Give a man a billion dollar, he will want 2 billion. Give him 10 billion, his wish will keep increasing.
To be at peace, give willingly and freely with no expectation. Your kindness will be appreciated by others, if not that person
A good reply from him, that is just the truth , expect less from people so that you won't get dissapointed when you are not given gratitute for your kindness in return.
Hello @ogoowinner yah i agree with you 100% you know even when we give a helping hand people interprete the helping hand in another way and remember you cannot please everyone however good you are but the only option you are left with is to treat bad with good and good with good
