It's Ok

I growled softly and lifted my head up, sniffing the air. Something didn't smell right.

I narrowed my eyes and scanned at the desks around me.

Just the usual bunch of unwashed Software Developers with the odd rumpled looking Business Analyst.

I could feel it though.

Danger. Or at the very least, something highly annoying was closing in.

It was then that I noticed a crab-like figure shuffling toward me as if it weren't shuffling toward me.

I lowered my brow in a frown that made Patricia-the-Twig, downstairs in the mail room, fall from her chair with a gasp.

Are you looking for me, Boss Man?

I snurped at El Jefe who was nearby, pretending not to be coming over to see me.

He leapt like a scalded cat and whipped his head about in a poor attempt at surprise.

What, looking for you? Um... No. I was just passing.

El Jefe smiled ingratiatingly at me as if I were a cheese sandwich and he, a wanton piece of lettuce.

I turned my head back to my screen with a grunt.

But what I'm here... How are you, BoomDawg?

I turned back to face the Jeffe-Lump.

Fine. I'm fine. Thank you.

El Jefe grinned again. He looked uncomfortable.

It was my first day back since my Dad had passed away. I was not in the best of moods.

I wanted to say...

El Jefe raised himself up as if on parade and attempted a sincere face.

I wanted to say... I'm sorry for your Dad.

I wheeled back my chair a bit and spun to give him my full attention.

S'alright. It wasn't your fault.

I said, my eyes steely as if trying to gentle a cat so I could get a saddle on it.

El Jefe recoiled a bit and dropped into default Project Manager mode.

Eh, of course it wasn't my fault?

He sputtered.

I know. That's why I said it was alright.

I said serenely, gazing over his shoulder at nothing.

The Jefe-weizen stepped back a little as if facing down a madman with a penis shaped truncheon.

So anyway. I'm sorry. I know it can be hard.

He said softly.

I nodded back.

That's ok. I forgive you.

I replied just as softly.

El Jefe made as if to react then caught himself. It was his turn to nod.

Ah, you are winding me up. Well, I'm glad you are feeling a bit better.

He backed off as he said this before turning and walking away.

I couldn't help but smirk a little.

Maybe I was feeling a bit better.

Hey what are you trying to say!

Oh you know it!! It's a rare breed that showers every day!! ;0)

Bah! speak for yourself.., though I'm not exactly a software developer..., those guys.. hmmmpph... :)

Hehe, they think no-one notices underneath all that camping/north face outerwear they all have :0D

Saying "sorry" for someone passing always perplexes me. Unless you did actually lead to the death of the person, then why do we feel the need to apologise? It's weird. And I say it too, although I add "to hear" at the end now.

I get baffled by it too. I am quite tired of hearing it although I know people are being nice. El Jefe was one too many folk!

I said, my eyes steely as if trying to gentle a cat so I could get a saddle on it.

Wait. You ride cats? And please don't tell me you were planning on riding El Jeffe in any sense of the word.

The Jefe-weizen stepped back a little as if facing down a madman with a penis shaped truncheon.

Come to think of it, aren't all truncheons vaguely shaped... suchlike?

El Jefe smiled ingratiatingly at me as if I were a cheese sandwich and he, a wanton piece of lettuce.

A wanton peice of lettuce? Now I can't stop imagining it. The next time I eat a cheese sandwich...

The next time you ready a cheese sandwich you may be contemplating truncheons resembling...

So yes, or no? Maybe. Hmm.

What else are cats good for?

@meesterboom Hello dear friend. It is good to know that it is a bit better. a loss of this magnitude takes a while to recover. the good thing about all this that your boss, deep down, has a heart
I wish you a happy rest dear friend

It actually looks like he does deep down somewhere!!! Cheers @jlufer one day at a time..

You're a cancer-cockroach , prick !!!

Is this a good 'natural' attack on a weakened dog ? :-)))

True condoleance "that's a painfull loss"

Pat on the shoulder without words and with a slight sigh
Take care

That's how you do it alright !

The full of gamut of emotions was effortlessly achieved in this slice of boom pie. Well done as always..

Hehe, cheers dude! I like to cover em all!

It is thursday, everything is set. Beer? Check. Ready for another episode of...

A new chapter, something's different. El Jeffe is there to take one for the team. It's a dirty job but someone 's got to do it.

Hehe, I really will have to come up with something for Thursday's! Lol :0)

You will, all in good time. 😎👍

Probably more Uncle Boom ;0D

The spin-off; The Young Uncle Boom. ☺
"...As I stood there on the top of the building, looking down over the rim, I saw my old 'dark' me scatered all over the place. Fuck paradoxes, it was time to right things wrong..."

And then over time he starts to become more grim, like some time-travel karma-curse...

Or... What nobody would expect, of course is that...

When my grandfather, on mothers side, would tell my brother and me bedtime stories, when we were kids, he would make a huge build up. A complete movie was triggered in my young brain. Exciting, lot of tension in the air.

And then, as it would get to an almost too exciting part he'd say: "Well, now it is time for you both to sleep, I'll tell the rest of the story next time."

Leaving my brother and me wide awake for hours after. Us trying to finish the story ourselves, as he never did, hahaha.

Anyway, if there was a Steem-booky to place a bet, I'd put a tenner on that Uncle Boom will return in one way or another. 😁

Heheheheh...

What if...

Nah, I had better not. I wouldn't take a bet against you on that one!

Will know next thursday... 😁👍

And for now I'll hit the sack.

Weird expression that is. Think I would pass out, off to bed, sounds better. :-)

I'm off to pass out too!! or sack hit, or something!! catch ya dude!
