What I've Learned in My 2 Years of Marriage - Happy Wife, Happy Life

Still Think She's looks like A Babe...Always & Forever!

You must be curious enough about my life to read this. Am I normal? Not even close.... Well, normal is relative.

I have been talking with my wife Sarah about how crazy it is that this July will be the 2nd year we have been married. The time has gone by with each day being an amazing opportunity to get to know each other better than we did the day before. We just keep finding ways to compliment each other. We both graduated from college together this April and have the world in front of us. Always having different input from family members about how to best live out our lives, but at the end of the day, we work together to figure it out. I got a job offer in July to work at a finance company but both of us being business minded coupled with the spirit of entrepreneurship, we want to continue to further the work of decentralizing the world by doing our part.

Marriage is something that is failing in so much of the world... but Why?

If Marriage fails, then families will fall apart and communities will be weak and unable to progress.

When my car is breaking down, I often know what the problem is or how to fix it, which allows me to get it back up and running in no time. I believe that many people feel that some problems in marriage are too big to fix or the solution is one that can not be found. Just like a car needs preventative maintenanc, a marriage does too.

You may have grown up in a home where your parents did not have a healthy, successful marriage so you lost hope of what a healthy marriage can look like. Marriage is at the heart of a successful community because it is a foundational building block at the core of humanity.

What We have Been Taught

First off, when Sarah is sad, feed her mostly chocolate. Ha! Not really, but doing this sparingly is okay.
When she needs a photo taken, she is really saying "I feel beautiful, will you capture this picture of me?" Often times these things are not my first thoughts. Learning to recognize what she is meaning has been huge. Sarah is a remarkable woman to say the least, I married up. Every man should feel that they are happy with the women they have by there side.

Growing up, my parents did not have a successful marriage because of mental health problems that were extreme that my mom ended up facing two years after my parents got married. My poor dad had a rough road ahead, but looking back, all those experiences have built some rock solid charicter. How else do you build character whithout really trying experiences?

How We Keep A Strong Marriage

We work at it every day. Having more awareness than we did the day before about one another's needs. We have found that praying together each night brings us closer together and the things that were annoying or frustrating are forgotten while the sweet thoughtful things are remembered and brought to light when we pray together.

This is so out of my comfort zone to write because in the last 26 years of my life, writing has been somthing that I have always felt that I never had anythnig to say that was worth reading much becasue I did not have a mother to teach me as a young child. I had a little bit of a late start that many other children don't have to worry about. It was not until High School that I would begin to fell comfortable reading out in public. It is amazing how far we can come as we work and strengthen a weakness that we have. Hope this helps you understand me a little bit better as I reveal more about myself and how human I am and we all are. We all have a story to tell and this is a part of mine.

Good for you and your family! A lot of interesting experience you've shared here.

@isaac.rodebush
Your insights on marriage are refreshing and it's very encouraging to see a strong marriage like yours... Especially nowadays!

It has been the best decision of my life by far. Not many get married in college but we were all the better for it. More focused and able to work while attending school not worrying about taking on any debt.

I will have to try doing some videos like you have done yourself. It is really neat to be able to have a combination in a vlog that way.

Yes, marriage is about commitment and I admire those who have made marriage work even during college years.
Yes, blogs and vlogs can be a good way to communicate effectively with your audience.

"Thanks for the tip''as Arnold said in the kindergarten cop movie.

It's beautiful that you can say such lovely things about your wife. Keep it up, and if you are planning to have kids in the future, have a look at my latest post which is all about keeping the spark! https://steemit.com/adventure/@bdmomuae/a-trip-down-husband-strategy-lane

Thanks for sharing @bdmomuae... I checked out your post. looked like an awesome family trip with good memories created.

My family just went on a trip to the Sand Dunes sin St. Anthony Idaho and had a blast. There was little likes next to the dunes that you could swim in and cool off during the day.

That sounds amazing!! Cooling off around sand dunes sounds even more amazing! Will have to put it on my bucketlist! ;)

Woohoo! Great post :)

I think it's important to mention to know one another's love languages as well so that you can properly express your love for one another and understand each other's needs. Great content here.

Hello @redtravels,

We have had the most amazing time with the people we meet finding creative ways to serve them and learn from them as we do. Some of the best education the world can offer you is by helping you fellow man.

I will check out your travel tips right away!

Hello @isaac.rodebush,

that's so true! Best education is if you mean it from the bottom of your heart... older folks giving their experience to the young generation (bad and good experience)

appreciate it :)

We both just graduated in April from BYU and I have a job lined up for July but the funny thing is when you put together the returns from mining, Steem, and crypto currency investing... it provides a lot of freedom that my job would when you stay focused and treat is like a business you will have the most freedom.

I'm still studying and still got 2 years to go... started to invest into crypto a couple months ago... but what you are saying is true yeah you're right.

It's blowing my mind what a world-changing opportunity it has been for us. Meanwhile, people called me crazy.

And if it fails, you can always try it again with someone else.

Sometimes that is the case that you are not able to make things work. But whatever life throws at you make sure you learn from it and become a better man from it.

I hope I never have a life as my Father had. It was so sad seeing his life challenged in ways he never planned for. The boat was not meant to stay in the harbor. we just have to go for it!

Its better to leave than to be unhappy. But in the same breathe, you should always try your best to make things work, before calling it quits. I think too many people jump on the idea of divorce because it easy, not because it is the right thing to do.

Each day I wake up and just try to put my best foot forward. Sometimes we take life to serious when we forget to set the alarm clock or forget a friends birthday or the car brakes down.... somestimes it just good to have a good laugh and keep on rocking!

Thanks for the great advice

nice wedding photo!

Thanks @randowhale it was a day to remember and each year is getting better I found a keeper.
God Bless!
