IT WAS THE YEAR 1704, a time that .... your grandparents were not even born yet 😛

A Scottish sailor named Alexander Selkirk found himself stranded on a lonely island, after he was abandoned by his captain, and left to die!

He had nothing with him .... except his rifle, his knife, and some gunpowder.

When he explored the interior part of the island, HE FOUND NOTHING useful.... just a bunch of cats, rats, goats and some very strange animals that made very strange noises during the night.

There was no shelter.... So he decided to hang around the shoreline. He slept in a cave, and fed by catching fish.
Seeing the hopelessness of his situation, Alexander became depressed.

He realized that sooner or later he would run out of gunpowder. His knife would pretty soon get rusty, and his clothes would wear off. He would not survive on JUST FISH... and then he cave in which he slept wasn't very safe.

WORSE STILL... sea lions came and invaded the shoreline.

... yes yes, It was their mating season.😋😋😋

Now Alexander's only choice was to move inland... into the deep dark and very lonely forest.

You see, many of us are like Captain Alexander .
We look at our material resources and wish that we had more.
More money. More time. More connections. More ideas. More workers.
... and we are stuck because of this.
But what if.... what if we considered a different possibility.
The possibility that more resources are not going to come to use from the outside.

Deep in the dark forest, Alexander discovered that it had everything he needed.
Woods from which He constructed huts. Fruit trees which he later began to cultivate.
He hunted the goats. Domesticated several cats, and used them to protect him from the rats.
He dismantled his rifle and crafted tools out of it.
Being the son of a shoemaker, he used that knowledge to make clothes out of animal skin.
It was as though . HE had made the forest his own. His home!

After about 4 years and 4 months, Alexander Selkirk was rescued from the island. But that experience completely transformed his way of thinking.

What do you have? USe IT!
IT could be research material for a particular book that you wish to work on.
IT could be people who work within your organization.
IT could be your friends on facebook, or your followers on #steemit.
If we look for MORE- money, information, outside help - it may not lead to that desired outcome we want.

DEPENDENCE MAKES US LESS CREATIVE!

But When you get to work with what you already have, you will solve those problems, as well as develop skills that can used again and again.

THE END!
