Tackling oppressive economic and social sutations, a response to @phillyc
Inspired by @phillyc's post, I suggest - or elaborate - how working as a community might be the best option.
Both one for all and all for one
Non-profit community organization is a much needed step toward self sovereignity, however the minimum requirements are people willing to colaborate, which can be pretty hard, but it can be done on the little things.
One person can provide water, but not for free. That person must be willing to go into a water-sharing routine, say give everyone a bucket early in the morning. Someone must be responsible for calculating costs and charging appropriately.
Why is this good? Since it is quite the chore, everyone involved should try to minimize consumption and waste, planning it's daily use beforehand. This saves a lot of money.
Each person should chip in with a resource. Whether it is food, entertainment or a skillset, there should be noone without any responsibility. It must also be important, but it doesn't all have to be of equal value. It just needs to be necessary from that community's perspective.
Say, you're good at earning crypto through steemit, you could contribute with actual money while others help you by writing posts and taking good pictures, maybe under cc0 license which is always attractive. One of them provides you with water instead, while another offers, say, car maintenance.
The most fundamental thing to get this to work is caring. Those involved must not be apathic to each other. Putting effort into this community binds people because they know they have invested time, money, effort and sentiment to finally get things going smoothly.
