Vlog #67: Steemfat: Diet and Gym, Bitcoin Cash and Steem withdrawals and deposits disabled on Poloniex and Bittrex.

in #life7 years ago

It's the third day of Steemfat, The journey to get in shape for Steemfest 2, and it's going well.

I'm eating healthy and no beers yet so far :). It's ok in the week. I expect the weekend to be tough.

I'm going to bed early and getting up early to reduce the window of me eating or drinking bad shit. I sleep surprisingly well.

I was thinking about making a progress post every week or so to force myself to keep at it.

Bitcoin Cash blocks have been mined for real now and it's now tradable on exchanges. (between $300-$400 as of writing).

The market cap is above 6 Billion.

No Bitcoin Cash can be deposited to exchanges right now. I expect when that happens that the price will go down.

Only 2 days ago I was expecting that after the hard fork Bitcoin Cash would be mined and tradable on exchanges straight away.

I was expecting a massive dump. And prepared to pick up some cheap. Of course, everything is going differently than expected :)

Steem withdrawals and deposits disabled

On Poloniex but now also on Bittrex. I have been asking around. But no one seems to know why.

I always go to bed so late then wake up early.
That is probably not too healthy but I think I've altered my biological clock so much it is normal to me. At least during this diet phase you are sleeping better.

With your porridge do you put anything else in. I haven't had oats in a while but when I used to I'd always put some fruit in like some strawberries and blueberries. I think it is pretty bland by itself but it may be a good idea just to have it by itself while you are on your diet.

BCH is doing really well at the moment. It seems like people are putting their money into BCH and not dumping as much as I thought it would. Let's see if it can pass the $1000 mark as it doesn't seem like it isn't going to stop going up. I don't think BCH will overtake BTC but slow transaction times might be pulling people towards this faster coin but I guess we will have to wait and see. I'm glad we had such a smooth transition and everything has remained pretty stable.

It is unforunate that steem is facing so many difficulties due to maintenance from many major exchanges. It probably wouldn't boomed but it can't do that if it is frozen on wallets and not getting traded. I don't know if it is because these exchanges can't cope with the volume of trade per second.

I hope these exchanges can unfreeze their wallets and we can get more trading and letting the price of steem go to the moon with other altcoins @exyle

Planning your workout the day before is really smart and also doing it in the morning is definitely the way to go. The later in the day you wait, the harder it is to make it to the gym. At least it is for me.

You brought up the big question that's been on my mind, why are the exchanges disabling Steem transactions. If it was just Polo, that's understandable. Polo has a lot of problems going on with them right now and i wouldn't think to much about it if it was just them, but for Bittrex and Blocktrades to also disable Steem is setting off alarm bells. I'm trying to listen to my instincts here and not trying to rationalize it away. For multiple exchanges to be doing this there has to be some very good reasons behind the scenes that are causing this. I am really starting to feel that all centralized exchanges are a perilous proposition. I have a very small amount of crypto on the exchanges now and I'm thinking very hard about pulling it all off. It will make it a pain in the ass when I want to make a trade to add to a position but I feel the extra effort is well worth it and it far outweighs the risk at this point. I could be being a little paranoid, but something just doesn't feel right pertaining to the exchanges. I'd be really interested to hear if you find out anything and I'll definitely let you know if I can drum up some answers. Great post as always brother!

I usually use other services to make an exchange and don't mind to pay the higher fee. (shapeshift/ block trades).

I am suspecting that maybe a few others had the same idea as you in trying to pick up some BCH at a cheap price if people dumped it. It's good to see that you're still progressing well on your weight loss plan. It might be a good idea to work in some high intensity interval training to boost fat loss.

At some point @exyle I hope you talk about decentralized exchange options. It is quite obvious after the death of Mt.Gox, Cryptsy, BTC-E, Poloniex, and maybe even Bittrex that centralized exchanges are not in the future anymore of cryptocurrency.

See what you can learn about Bitshares and tell everyone. I know it's a tokenized exchange, but OpenLedger seems to be doing well as a gateway to actual non-token coin conversion.

This is really a bad time in the trading of coins vs centralized exchanges. Not good.. but we've gotten through bad times before. I really hope for the future.

P.S. I invite you to come visit my blog tonight. I wrote something special that I didn't know if anyone would like... about steem blockchain feeling like work sometimes... and apparently it caught wind pretty good. Would like your thoughts. :)

I use it from time to time. I'll think about it. I visited your blogpost man, nice!

I think the Bitcoin forking is affecting the transaction of cryptocurrencies. We would have to wait for 1-2 days before doing any transaction.

Just be patient and keep yourself busy. I'm on an intermittent fasting, eating 8 hours in a day, even less sometimes and not that much food, a lot of fruits. The first days are harder. :)

Nice article @exyle and good to hear that you sleep early to reduce the eating window that's very good strategy as far as deposits disabled is concerned there are lots more exchanges available like Livecoin i use it and its actually pretty good.

Thanks for the suggestion!

It is good to maintain a healthy lifestyle, when I want to lose some overweight I reduce my intake of bread and start eating only a salad for dinner, it works and I feel better when I wake up in the morning.
About Bitcoin Cash and all coins they still have a lot of potential, it is very likely that in the long run the price increases, the total market cap is very small compared to fiat money or big companies.
Keep up the good work.

Yeah, it's a great relief that the fork is over. Only time will tell how bcc and btc will move. But the main bitcoin I feel will continue to grow. I think the interference in steem transaction is due to that fork. Hopefully it will be back to normal soon. For the best body and optimum health I suggest you look into intermittent fasting. It has tonnes of benefits, google and do some research on it. Thank you for sharing, wishing you all the best :)

yes and nice u eating healthy and leave bears keep it up some days and gett good results for youself...and also whats ur opinion about these exchanges these time

When they disable Steem my opinion is not very high :)
