The Steemit team is working on their 2018 roadmap and are asking for suggestions from the community. here.
They will also release a mobile wallet app before the end of the year with notifications.
Not sure how I feel about that :)
As you know I am part of @blockbrothers and we have been building a notification app for a while. I'm running it on my phone and it has increased my Steemit experience a lot.
@bennierex and @eqko have been working extremely hard to get this out in public Beta ASAP.

The way I read it, is that
A: They are releasing a secure wallet app.
and
B: They are updating notifications on steemit.com
based on this quote.
I'm not worried bro. Our Steemify app is solid and I am enjoying the hell out of it, getting notifications left and right on anything related to my actions on steemit.

They will release a wallet AND better notifications for steemit.com. I think the team can continue working on Steemify without problem, one app like that is really need it. I am following @blockbrothers now.

Delegation is allowing free markets to do what they will. Allowing people to profit from their steempower keeps them invested and helps minimize price instability. If whales need to keep powering down to earn money they can quickly crush the price of Steem.
Awesome. Would the notification work like the feed section on steemit, or would it be an offline notification system.
It uses push notifications to notify you of any operations you are subscribed to (configurable in the app itself) in real-time. Also you can view a list of notifications received in the past. We're trying to focus on one thing and make it as good as we possibly can.
