The real potential of steemit
I love #steemit, and I am beginning to wonder about the extent of its potential. Seriously: just how far can it go?
Like so many of us, well, all of us, I love steemit. "Why?" you ask. And I ask too.
It's more than the steem.
It's more than its 'gateway drug' entry point to the whole 'crypto thing' vibe.
It's more than the ideas that are blossoming here.
It's more than the community we're building.
And I'm thinking, it's more than all these things together, too.
I love steemit because it provides a place where we can express ourselves and experiment with words (poems and prose, essays and opinions) and ideas and art (art!). And reward each other for our expression.
It provides a link across boundaries of nations and cultures (if not perhaps language). And through this, it gives us an opportunity to really connect with people of other cultures and places - and discuss what really matters.
Through this, it has the potential to help us all become the human beings we want to be.
I know this is a big call - and at the moment only a possibility. But it is a very real possibility.
Because steemit has the potential.

I have joined this community for 10 days probably. I still think that Steemit has a real potential but it also has a bad structure for newbie. What I mean is newbie's SP is too small and it made them feel frustrated easily. Maybe it can make some of them think that they have to invest some money in Steemit but other people will easily get out of here. Fortunately, I got some delegated SP from whale and now I enjoy writing my article. I don't need that much money. I just need some people who can read my memorable writing. That's it but it is quite hard goal in Steemit for newbies.

Hey followme I totally understand that. Not sure what to do about it though. I have helped a few people out to get a few SBD soothed can use @minnowbooster and @randowhale etc and start to build their steem power.

yeah I sometimes used those bot you mentioned above. In my case, I had some upvotes in korean community after I got 1000SP but I still can't have enough votes in usual community. Maybe it is caused that I don't have enough foreign followers... haha. So I try to interact some foreigners day after day. Actually that was my most important goal. I don't have enough chance to meet foreigners in Korea so Steemit is awesome place for me haha. Thank you for understanding what I meant.
I see what you mean where it is hard for a newcomer to find its way and get some attention to the content he/she creates. But this is the same as with other platforms like twitter, facebook, instagram, etc.. The fact steem works with the upvotes it has potential to overcome that problem i think.. We'll see how it goes! :)
yeah every SNS has similar problem haha. The reason why I have more complains is because I'm newbie probably haha.

Yes... I see it same way... #Steemit has great potential and a great future I guess... from now "only" 350 k members what about gaining acceptance like facebook etc ?

People that earn good money from it will of course say this, I was exited about it when I joined and earned from 10 to 40 dollars from post, but after the hf19 I start to earn just a few cents from a post, I hope things will change very soon, I am really working hard and posting almost every day

I think it's a consensus that steemit has changed the way to express opinions or share sth. Steemit is only a beta now, I look forward to seeing how prestigious it'll become.
