Highly Effective Habits // How To Be Successful // PART I

in #life6 years ago

We often time dream of success as human beings in this ever-changing world in which we live, so who better to look up to than those who have essentially built their very own empires from scratch.

If we as individuals adopt the habits of the rich and successful, then we will be much more likely to flourish and attain high levels of success in our lives.

In this post, I am going to highlight 4 of 8 highly effective habits that are performed by the rich folk in order to live a healthy and comfortable lifestyle for an eternity.

WAKE UP EARLIER

We have all heard of the saying, “the early bird gets the worm,” and this more often than not is a true statement.

Going to bed earlier and waking up at the crack of dawn will allow for you to get into a habitual routine of doing so. This habit will be hard to crack at first, but after a while, it will be just like anything else and become second nature to you.

If you go to bed early enough, then waking up early will not hinder the amount of sleep you normally receive. In other words, you can still get your 8 hours even if you wake up at 7 am every day, it will just require you to hit the hay a little earlier than before.

But would you rather stay up late and accomplish very little, or wake up early and hit the ground running?

Waking up early will allow for you to accomplish a number of tasks before midday. You may even begin to notice that you are accomplishing more before noon than you would in an entire day before indulging in this particular habit.

Make a list of 10 things you want to accomplish when you wake up that morning. This strategy will help you knock out any small tasks you’ve been meaning to take care of for a few days or even weeks.

If we don’t make note, then we may forget and then it will just continue to get pushed further and further back on our to-do list. I have not started this technique quite yet, but plan to use it in the near future to help me be more productive with time management and also to crack my bad procrastination habits.

INCORPORATE EXERCISE INTO YOUR DAILY ROUTINE

Begin to exercise more regularly, if you are not already. It may be hard at first after a long day of work or whatever your day normally consists of, but you will begin to notice significant improvements over time. Not just in your overall body image, but the way you feel and how your mind will adapt and relax to specific stressors, too.

Getting up early and then working a full day will make you tired, but if you mark it on the agenda then it must get crossed off!

After a while, any grogginess or laziness will (hopefully) vanish and you will be full of energy to fuel you at the start of a new day. Exercise is a great habit to get into if you want to live a long and healthy life.

READ MORE USEFUL BOOKS

Many of the world’s most successful individuals claim they read every day. Picking up a book for 15 minutes on four separate occasions throughout the day could be a good start to help you ease into this habit, especially if you don’t particularly enjoy reading, like myself.

Read books that will help you expand your knowledge of particular topics you may be lacking a comprehensive understanding of and are interested in learning more about. You may learn something so useful that you are able to apply it in your life in a real-world scenario.

Maybe you come up with a business idea by reading an entrepreneurial book or learn how to invest in something like real estate, which is a very lucrative sector if you know what you are doing.

If you despise reading so much, maybe you can try listening to a podcast instead while going for a walk or riding in the car. There are so many ways for this to be accomplished, even if you are not an avid reader, such as myself for example.

SET ATTAINABLE GOALS AND ACHIEVE THEM

Setting goals are something that a lot of people do, but setting attainable goals is a different story. Unrealistic goals are useless because the chances of you reaching that goal are highly unlikely. If you don’t reach your goal, then you will likely stop setting goals for yourself because this is just human nature.

Set small, short-term goals that help lead you to reach a larger, more overarching long-term goal for yourself. For instance, if your goal is to earn 5,000 SP here on steemit, then you could set small goals to help you reach this larger goal.

You could start by telling yourself you want to be active every day, commenting and responding to user’s posts that you enjoy. Start with 10 or 15 each day and then you could progress to 20 or 25.

Another pledge could be to post once a day or even multiple times per day if you are feeling ambitious. This will ensure that you are receiving a daily payout in STEEM, SBD, and SP which will ultimately help you in reaching this larger, end goal of 5,000 SP.
