SuperCar Spotting: Rolls Royce in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
I know, I know, its not a supercar, its a luxury 4-door sedan...BUT... it was still a brand news Rolls Royce Phantom parked outside the "Hotel De Paris" in Monte Carlo and that is pretty cool.
2004 Rolls Royce Phantom
This picture was taken in 2004, in Monte Carlo and at that time, this Roller was brand spanking new and worth about US$425,000. The 6.75 litre V12 engine pushes out about 450bhp, and it will need every bit of that to move this tank of a vehicle. As much of the vehicle is aluminium, the weight is somewhat contained and the car is still able to accelerate from 0-100km/hr in just under 6 seconds, which makes it no slouch. Notice how the RR symbols in the middle of the wheels are pointing perfectly up. That is not an insane effort from the chaufer but a feature that sees the hubs independant to the wheels so that they will always be facing in the right direction. Its the little details like this that you pay for.
The famous hotel, is a Monte Carlo icon, and is located adjacent to the casino. It has featured in several James Bond films and more recently in Iron Man 2.
