Walk Your Talk

in #life6 years ago

We often find ourselves setting goals we want to accomplish, height we want to reach and places we want to go. From the big goals like building your own dream house, travelling around the world, or achieving some sort of academic success to the not so big ones like trying to stay fit, eating a bit healthier or growing a waist length hair, we often find ourselves talking about these goals, and most times commit little to no time into achieving it (because things haven't fallen into place?).

Talking isn't at all bad, but it definitely needs to be backed with actions if we wanna get it done. If you want to take your castle from the "air" to the "land", then you will have to stop talking and start acting.

It is so easy to talk about all the things we want to get done, and well, quite hard to get it done. How easy it will be if all our talks get done by themselves without us lifting a finger. But no, that's not gonna happen, we will need to take actions toward it if we want to get it done. And besides, the actions we take and challenges we face is what makes life interesting and fun.

We all aren't perfect, and life too isn't. Imperfections are more than just flaws, they are those little curves that kind of add a bit of spice to life. When we wanna walk/work toward our talk/plans, we really will want to go for progress instead of perfection.

If we wait for the "perfect time", or until we have all the knowledge or at the "perfect place", we might never get around doing what we want to. And the more we talk about it, the more people around you will take you less seriously (well, that's because they have never seen you take a step towards it) and you might probably loose interest in it as well.

Just saying those dreams or plans might seem overwhelming and unachievable to us sometimes, and wanting to take big steps might seem even much more overwhelming.  But once we begin to take gradual and small steps towards it, we break the steps down and make it look more achievable and realistic. The little steps you take towards your goal is what will bring about the big "wins" (million little drops of rain can cause a tidal wave).

You will need to overcome your fears of taking risks as well (if you have that), fear only holds us back and keeps us from living life fully. Talking doesn't get things done, action does.Enjoy your walk towards your talk, one step at a time and you will get there!

Much Love, Audrey
