This morning @trang and I got up early to embark on an elite #steemphilly tradition… that of the famed Liberty Bell run. This 10.5 mile route, popular among Philly Long Distance Runners, takes one by many of the most touristic sites the city has to offer. Allegedly, this is the third year that this has been an official course.
We started out converting the written directions into a digital GPX route via ViewRanger. Then we set out on the run. Unfortunately, a small operator error while biking last night led to me diving face first onto a cement sidewalk. Luckily, the rain had transformed the sidewalk into a Slip ‘N Slide®, but still my knee was a bit too battered to run. Hence, we called an audible and switched to bikes.
Here are our tracks on Strava from @trang's Garmin VivoActive Watch:
Or on ViewRanger with a satellite background from my Pixel 2:
Notice how the track gets wiggly downtown as the massive skyscrapers interfered with the precision of our GPS instrumentation. That wasn't the only attraction downtown! We got to see the aftermath of yesterday's subterranean water main explosion:
You may notice in our tracks that part of the red outline appears bolded. That's because we initially passed the crack and had to backtrack to complete it. This extended the mileage from 10.5 to 14.0. For those who're curious, here's a picture of the actual Liberty Bell and crack, stationed at Independence Hall in Philadelphia:

Since this was @trang's idea to do the route and because she did half the work, I'm making her a 50% beneficiary on this post!

@dhimmel Thank you for the shared beneficiary and for being such a good sport even with your terribly injured knees. Cheers to irony! #independence
Turns out you are getting more rewards than me from this post! I saw in the raw transaction that @steem-plus redirected 5% to itself, so I get 45% and you get 50%. Turns out the beneficiary feature is an add-on provided by @steem-plus, and @steem-plus charges 5% to use it. I have nothing against this but wish the user interface were more clear on this. For example, the UI could display a beneficiary line with @steem-plus set to 5% that is immutable, so it's clear that this will happen. CC @stoodkev.
I agree @steem-plus should have been more transparent about gaining 5% of the rewards.
This is a new and out of the box way to celebrate the 4th of July. Totally love the adventurous plan
You guys made an awesome route there! Cool thing to do on the Fourth of July. I wish you bot great remaining of the day!

Running is very useful for health! I also like to use the navigator. I use Google Maps.
