Learning is Life

in #learning8 years ago

Each day stimulus from our environment comes into our consciousness. This happens from the time we are born until the time we die. It even happens at night when we sleep to some degree.

Despite being unconscious and sleeping, the unconscious can revive conscious states. Loud sounds can wake us up. Pain can wake us up. The unconscious is always processing even when the conscious mind is not actively doing so.

There is a lot of data being stimulated into our senses. The conscious part of ourselves is only aware of a fraction of the data we gather from our senses. Most of it is processed at a subconscious or unconscious level.

Everything that goes on in our environment from birth to death can influence us. We learn from all our senses, but all the things we hear and see affect us the most. We hear parents, teachers, peers and voices on TV, on the radio or in music. We see people doing things, we watch TV and movies. We read books and look at magazines. We are constantly learning in life.

The word learn means to get knowledge, study, read, think about. Everything we experience as sensory stimulus is automatically knowledge that is input into our consciousness.

Learning is part of life. Life is learning.

Much of it is passive, automatic, intuitive, unconscious, involuntary and doesn't involve much willful effort or evaluation on our part. We pick up the language of our parents. We pick up gestures and behaviors. We mimic others without thinking. We are copycats and shape-shifters to a large degree. That's the "lower" form of learning.

A higher form of learning comes when we actively choose to learn. Instead of being passive, it's active. Instead of being automatic, it's willed. Instead of being involuntary, it's voluntary. Instead of being unconscious, it's conscious. Instead of blindly consuming knowledge that gets incorporated into ourselves -- as part of our being, as part of our self-view and worldview -- it's critically evaluated, judged, diagnoses and discerned for validity and worth of being incorporated into ourselves.

We can also be pressured into learning, such is the case with mandatory schooling. In that case, we are not always critically thinking in order to be influences by knowledge and accept it. From the time we are born, this is also what happens as we passively, automatically, intuitively and unconsciously consume data from existence into our consciousness.

This is how collectivism worms its way into our lives, uncritically, unthinkingly because we are easily influenced by everything that people say and do. We are repeatedly exposed and influenced by the standard norms of acceptability in society which shapes and forms us into who we are or become.

To be a more self-directed, self-controlled, self-governed, self-responsible, self-sufficient and self-mastered individual human being, we need to employ more higher learning thinking and processing. We can develop skills like critical thinking.

This is the basis for strong individualism that doesn't bend to the external impositions of the collective. This is how we can strengthen ourselves and learn to be more free in mind/consciousness. This is how we can eventually be free from tyranny and the centralized external governance and control of others who try to rule over us.

We can create real freedom from masters and rulers, to live in anarchy. Learning about morality is pivotal. Morality is about how to behave with respect to the existence of others who also exist as we do. For anarchy to exist as an ideal way of life, it must be done through moral individualism that recognizes the objective difference between what is right and what is wrong, not the collectivism of imposed influences and accepting what we are told is right or wrong.

Learning is life. Morality is life. Learning to live more morally is the path and way to the higher, realer and truer life potential that can exist for all to be free.

This is active learning. This is higher learning. This is conscious learning. This is the higher conscious life path of learning, instead of the lower unconscious "dead" way to go about learning. Caring for truth activates a desire to want to learn and "resurrects" us from being "dead" in a coffin or tomb of unconsciousness.

Thank you for your time and attention. Peace.

Very good self-awareness post and manual for survival.
First today we must learn and understand the channels and sources of negative Power that obstruct the building of a new society, and make deliberate choices as to what power you will use the circumstances, and in what way and in.
We must act proactively, and when we can only react, or if we have to choose not to react.

Being an agent of change today is to deny the mechanistic culture, and if we want to survive in the new Age of Globalization, we need to start thinking as actors of change and break with outdated conceptions of centralized organizational culture.

The role of the new agents of change for decentralization will be to assist decentralized communities, to explore their common goals, to overcome obstacles, to create new values, attitudes, and behaviors through the processes of identification and internalization of community members.
Many current-day activists, enthusiasts, activists, and evangelists of the blockchain are great examples of horizontal individualists who are great agents of change for a decentralized society.

Social relations are undergoing new mutations creating social fragmentation, economic exclusion, the practices of violence of massification and individualization in the centralized world, while in the blockchain there are new processes of community integration resulting from decentralization and deterritorialization in cyberspace.

Yes, breaking out of centralized control structures will help us greatly. Real unity in a community through strong individual liberty and moral understanding.

Do you go on discord anymore? I sent you a friend request...

Well, I'm going to check, miss talking with you and those good debates in discord.:)
I would like to hear your prolific opinion on a project that we are almost ready to launch.
I'll leave my contacts there.
I'm happy you're bringing back your Light to Steemit. hehe

Haha, you still haven't accepted the friend request :P

My username is charlie777pt in Discord.
I 've not find any requests for friends.
Did you change your username or did you find a way to recover the old one?

I have a different one, dif #, still KrNel. Check pending in friends section, i sent it a month ago

I was wondering if you knew how to get this link to @dan. I think @themerge is basically saying that @dan is like the creator of the universe. I thought it was cool anyway. https://steemit.com/steem/@themerge/comparing-steem-blockchain-to-creation-a-spiritual-perspective

you are right @krnel, definitely, in this life what we will never stop doing is learning.

Every day we acquire new knowledge. I am not referring to technological advances, but to the capacity we have to learn from experiences, situations, mistakes, failures and even triumphs, the world we live in is a great classroom; and although many have not liked going to school, the school of life will always be there ... a university degree is just a paper and it is useless to have the whole theory if you do not have the practice, therefore some people have from a very young age the conviction to work to acquire experience, from the beginning or before the university ... the field of life will always give us experiences and that is what will make us experts in the area that we are passionate about. Learning is part of growing and maturing; As children learned the alphabet, when we became adults we started to live different and more complex things. For many it is difficult to learn something from a bad experience, perhaps because they believe that only good things can be learned, but it is not always the case.

Indeed, learning is default part of growing and maturing. It happens automatically to some degree, but we can willfully increase our learning and grow faster consciously :) Learning from our mistakes is powerful too. Chaos, bad, evil teaches us what not to do.

If we don't learn, we don't advance, not as individual nor as a species, if we don't advance that's pretty much the same as being dead. So you are spot on with your tittle "Learning is Life".

I think learning and discovering new knowledge is the only actions that will allow to move forward, and if we see our past we can realize we can go a long way.

I love learning new interesting things, and that's why I wrote "Eternal Learner" in my profile :P

Cheers!

Absolutely! We need to progress in consciousness/awareness in order to move forward in a positive direction, as individuals and for humanity and all species on the planet. Eternal learner, I share that self-descriptor ;)

Exactly man! Learning occurs at any point in time as we are exposed to different kinds of stimulus. The subconscious learning is even much more Than the conscious for most persons.

The media understand this, thats why they invest millions of dollars in mind control just to push the narrative in the direction they choose.

In another story, I saw your post about delegations. I must commend the initiative because it stands out in a universe getting choked by upvote bots. Yes, I think you should delegate to people or communities based on determinable activity on the chain.

My team and I began the first steem blockchain based healthcare service. You can check it out @air-clinic for more details. Your delegation will go a long way to support the community.

Cheers!

Yeah the media is feeding us info that we accept without thinking. Thanks, and thanks for reminding me. I have to read and analyze the comments for suggestions and reply. I've been putting off reading all the great suggestions and figuring out how to do the delegation, but I need to do it :P

I love the work you do and publish, it always provides valuable information and invites us to continue with a reflection. Congratulations

Thanks, I'm glad you continue to find value in the things I talk about :)

Well said. Yes we learn throughout life. Sometimes I wonder if we are an experiment by the one who created us. LOL But we continue to learn and grow. I think of the old Tom Bodett quote

The difference between school and life. In school you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life you're given a test that teaches you a lesson.

Blessings my friend.

Reason why its said, As long we are are alive, everybody life teaches us a new lesson and we all learn. I see the consciousness learning 75% voluntarily and un/subsconsciousness learning 100% involuntarily. Learning is truly life

Yeah, most people are in unthinking unconscious mode :/

Every day is a revolutionary day. and we learn from our mistakes as well as our success.

In the book of Timothy St. Pual said till o come again give unto reading, exotation. Reading makes us become a better us and it increases our ability to make decisions.

Learning is life... The day you stop learning you are dead... Thanks for this piece
