Your dog seems to know where you can take some wonderful photos!
I'm so lucky to have that location more or less right on my doorstep. It's a steep hill too so makes a really good workout!

Perfect photo and interesting plant - Digitalis purpurea in its full glory. Very useful and very, very toxic 😃
Thank you. There's a lot of it around right now, such beautiful colours. I think I knew it was toxic; interesting that something so pretty could be so deadly.
It's been used in medicine for ages but since mid XVIII century is listed in professional literature and it is sometimes recognized as first modern medicine for heart related problems - it affects heart muscle, increases cardiac contractility and helps fighting various types of arrythimas. Contains whole bunch of so cardiac glycosides which in higher doses are very toxic - they also affect ocular nerves so you will see yellow after mild overdose 😛But don't try it at home...
I have seen it growing wild in Europe but it is not very common. More often is grown as decorative plant in gardens.
Wow; thanks for that info. Very good to know. As I said, it's all over the place in my local area. It's very interesting to photograph when there's so much of it.
