Capping Word

Mind can be said to have two aspects: the fundamental mind, and
the ignorant mind that is attached to forms and appearances. Our
nature can also be described as having two aspects: a fundamental
dharma nature, and a view where our nature stands opposed
to forms and appearances. As a result of holding to any of these
views, meditators as well as students of the sutras may remain
in darkness. This happens whenever they become attached to
names and cling to discriminating knowledge: Some argue that
a shallow thing is deep, while others argue that the deep thing
is shallow. This is a grave disease infecting both views and actions,
so therefore I must comment so extensively here.
