Good Lord! I would never ever even consider walking in this mud knowing that there will be tide coming soon and I could get stuck. Oh, seeing those people walking on the road and the water around makes me feel sick :) I can imagine that many people died there because they simply didn't pay attention..
You took some nice photos and I would never think that it was a sea if you haven't said that. It just doesn't look like it :)
It's not that dangerous if you follow basic common sense. Tide going down head out, tide coming up, head back. If there are trees, its a safe place to be at peak tide, if there aren't, it's not.
It does kinda look like empty rice fields or a swamp.

Awesome. That reminds me to the mud flat in the North Sea of Germany. I was there some years ago, and we walked through the mud to an island about 10 km away.
10km through the mud sounds like a treak. I didnsomething similar in bay of fundy. They have mud marathomns here too, but usually don't go out that far.
The mid to north West coast of Korea is a muddy place especially around Incheon. It looks bleak especially on a foggy or polluted day, but there is a lot of life in the slime. Historically it made this a difficult place to send large ships which has mostly been a good thing to avoid attacks.
The people stranded on the road just got wet feet. I guess that is a small price to pay for one last selfie.

Wow, what an interesting place :O You really gotta pay attention to those tides' times, seemingly??? I've never visited such a place...
That ride of shame must cost a fair bit, hahahaha, and oh no! Some people still got stranded??? XD
Really interesting post, @abitcoinskeptic :) The photos are neat, and I like your write up, too <3
