Mission Statement and recent history

Bean Here Now Consciousness Café is a locally owned, locally built mobile espresso cantina. We are dedicated to supporting and serving hand crafted, traditionally grown, unwashed, pure coffee. This requires our commitment to pay the growers directly, providing the highest monetary compensation for a truly word class, superior product. Currently we are based in Nelson, BC and and enjoy the fruit of the labours of our brothers and sisters in Tecuitata, Mexico. Bean Here Now is mountain folk supporting mountain folk. In honour of all farmers and our Mother Earth, we use only local organic dairy products, as well as internationally fairly traded organic products.

Established in 2009, we operated in Nelson until a crazy accident damaged our original mobile cantina in January of 2016. After a year we managed to obtain a locally designed and built mobile 'caboose' style espresso cart and reopened in January 2017!

My espresso 'Medic' Nico rebuilt the smashed Nuova Simonelli 2000 Mac elle traditional lever action espresso machine. Our friend Miich crafted a beautiful walnut/glass/copper steam punk see through cabinet. It works as good as it looks!

A year of recovery and rebuilding brings our enterprise back to the public. We are extremely grateful for the community support while the business was down, especially Thor's Pizzaria next door.
