My Introducing To Steemit Community

Hi Steemit community! I am new and looking forward to reading the many posts here and adding my limited knowledge. I am a country guy that is trapped in the city. My interests are fishing, hunting, and bees.

I have spent many years in the military and am a disabled veteran. I love America and proud to have served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was part of Desert Storm. If I was needed I would do it all over again.

I hope to encourage my readers to consider keeping bees as they are need to pollinate one-third of our food. Being a backyard beekeeper is not hard and is very rewarding.

Thanks for reading and I will see you on the written pages.

Welcome to Steemit and thank you for your service to the country. I am fascinated by bee communication and the many connections each bee is able to make within a hive. It has been argued by thinkers such as Yuval Noah Harari that human success is predicated upon our ability to make connection easily beyond family and local community relations. I look forward to your contribution and hope you offer additional narratives about your bees.

Thank you for the welcome! Bees are so important to our food chain and the more people that will at least educate themselves to bees the better.

Welcome to Steemit. I know the struggle of loving the country and living in the city. I was in the same boat up until a few years ago. I am looking forward to keeping bees. Last year I began building beehives and have sold a hand full of them. I have about 30 hives about complete for my personal use hopefully starting next year. We'll see how many colonies I get. Check me out and follow me over @myhomesteaded. And again, welcome to Steemit.

I have been building Warre hives and have used Langstroth hives as well. When I get moved I have a place to do more with bees. If my health allows I might sell both honey and nucs.

Nice to see you on steemit. Welcome.

Welcome @adventuresinlife aboard the steemit express. This is a great platform to express yourself just like any other social media outlet except this one pays its users for interacting with each other. Post good content and your rewards can be limitless but always stay true to yourself.

Thanks for your advice! I like the "stay true to yourself."

Welcome to Steemit! My husband is also a disabled Vet, so thank you for your service and I understand the triumphs you accomplish daily!

Beekeeping! I have a hive ready to go, but no bees. Ran out of finances this year and have been unable to get myself a suit and veil. Next year! I also need top plant WAY more bee friendly plants. We're in the high desert of Central Oregon. I've really not seen enough honey bees out here and that scares me!

Sounds like you might be a homesteader? If you'd like to join in with a few other homestead-minded people, we would love to see you, check out this post.

Good luck, friend, I look forward to your posts!

It does cost some to get started in bee keeping. Just start slow and I would not get more than two hives at first. Spend much time studying the bees.

I've been studying for about three-four years. :) I'm ready, just finances have held me back. :)

Welcome to Steemit! This is a cool place to get to know each other and see and learn some new things while making a few pennies. :-)

Here are just a few tips that others shared with me when I first joined here:

  1. Don't fall into the follow-for-follow trick. That is not how to succeed on Steemit. All it will likely do is fill your Feed page with things you're not interested in. There are no rewards for following people or the number of followers you have.
  2. If you like someone's post, upvote it... even if it's not worth much right now. The thought matters most, and you will grow your Steem Power to get higher paying votes to gift to others.
  3. Post regularly and with your original content and photos. Even if the photos aren't great. We love seeing other people's photos and reading their posts. You'll grow a genuine following this way... and that's what you'll want; people who regularly upvote, comment, and share your posts.

I also want to invite you to the SteemitHomesteaders slack community. It is a chat room/group of sorts where a lot of us Steemit Homesteaders hang out to chat, ask questions, and just get to know each other more. You don't have to be a homesteader to join. Anyone into homesteading, gardening, farming, prepping, and such is more than welcome. Here's a link to my announcement post with a little more details about slack and the group as a whole. https://steemit.com/steemithomesteaders/@greenacrehome/announcement-steemithomesteaders-slack-community

See you around!

Thanks for your comments. I will check out SteemitHomesteaders slack community.
