Hey! I’m Shira Lazar, the Co-Founder and CEO of What’s Trending.

I started What’s Trending as a way to cover the stories people were talking about every day – the good, the bad, and the weird. From serious news stories to why a baby werewolf is riding the subway in NYC, we’ve always attempted to track the day's most talked about stories so that you don’t have to spend five hours of your work day distracted by all the noise. We know you have better things to do… kinda ;)

We’ve grown with the online landscape. Originally just a blog, and then a YouTube channel, we’re now on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Musical.ly, and now Steemit. To us, this platform offers the opportunity for us to share what we do with a new audience, and hopefully initiate a new stream of revenue in the process.

If our hunch is right, Steemit could soon be an addition to that list of platforms that brands and content outlets absolutely have to be on.

What’s Trending was one of the first broadcast quality live-streams to launch in 2011 and we even got nominated for an Emmy! We have stayed independent as a media publisher over the years amidst countless investments and acquisitions in the growing digital media space. We have consistently been early adopters and are extremely passionate about the creator community. That’s why we couldn’t be more excited to join the Steemit community and meet all of you!

Every day, we’ll be posting stories and our own produced and hosted videos around digital culture. On Reddit, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram – and now, Steemit – we monitor the stories everyone is talking about today and will be talking about tomorrow.
