When My YouTube Channel Was Terminated It Changed My Life For The Better!
When my YouTube account was terminated for no reason i was absolutely heartbroken. I had my YouTube channel for seven years, however from September last year was when i really put my heart and soul into it. I had gained over 5000 subscribers in such a short period and over 240,000 watch-time minutes, which was hard to do as a musician as the average song only goes for 3-4 minutes.
So as you can imagine i was very upset when i got the message that my YouTube channel had been terminated. I knew i had done nothing wrong and it turns out thousands of YouTube accounts had been terminated around the same time and on the 20th of February over a million channels had been demonetized and forced out of YouTube partnership unless they met the new guidelines of having 4000 watch-time hours... Yes you read correctly not minutes but 4000 hours of watch-time on their videos within the year as well as 1000 subscribers.
I actually found out about this news while i was visiting my mum, Funny enough i was actually watching inspirational videos on YouTube of people opening their silver, gold and diamond play buttons, This is what YouTubers receive once they reach different subscriber milestones. I was just telling my mum how excited i would be when it's finally my turn receiving mine, When in that moment i received the message that my YouTube channel had been terminated, I was in tears (I can laugh about it now).
After awhile i put a post up on Facebook letting everyone know what happened when one of my friends mentioned D-tube, So i started investigating and looking more into it and i watched video's from @jerrybanfield, @brandonfrye and @bluerocktalk. The more i watched the more excited i got and that was when i knew that i had to join the Steemit platform.
So i never thought i would ever say this but in a way i am glad this happened as this is very exciting and i believe when my YouTube channel was terminated it changed my life for the better!

I'm sorry to hear you lost your channel. In an extraordinarily simplified version, I'm going to outline what has been going on at YouTube. YouTube wants to be the next NetFlix, Hulu, and Cable TV Provider. So, the big wigs instructed to the Coders to ensure that controversial, questionable or advertiser unfriendly channels would be shadow banned, demonetized, flagged or in simple terms, discouraged from using the platform.
Sadly, this wide-reaching and sweeping algorithm change effected even the most mundane of channels. If the algorithm wasn't bad enough they went a step further by implementing the new 1k subscriber and or 4k yearly hour of views. That's the simplified version that has many other sub-root explanations, but I didn't want to over complicate the outline.
I agree with the new youtube red it looks like it will be like netflix its all going to change and not for the better i believe. However i'm so glad i found about steemit this seems so awesome :)
To start from scratch is how to be born again! I think that here you will have even more success!
