Yes, I've been to jail in Haiti and the UN hates me.

Dear Steemit Community,

Followed a few of my colleagues and fellow travelers over here to Steemit to discover I am in an exciting new land with new guidelines and values and lots more to learn. That's what excites me about life, learning, sharing and growing.

I believe in humanity and preference the ideas of community and the public interest over corporate controlled politics, consumerism and war. I believe in people changing despite cultural and ideological obstacles and ultimately trust that the same thing that has made us the apex predator on earth, our ability to cooperate, will save us in the end.

In the near future I'll be sharing information directly from my colleagues in Haiti about the situation there as well as providing analysis of news and events on the ground. You can check out our Twitter feed at @HaitiInfoProj which is short for the Haiti Information Project.

So you know, Haiti is not the only news I cover. I am also the Senior producer of Flashpoints on Pacifica Radio. As such, I've covered everything from US foreign policy to income inequality.

So it's a pleasure learning about everyone in the community and I'll do my level best to be a regular contributor.
