Hello Steemit, from the place Australia occasionally forgets

Hello Everyone, I've been told that the way to succeed and more importantly enjoy yourself in this wonderful place called Steemit; you need to introduce yourself and actually actively participate. So here goes:

My name is James or Jim as some call me. I live in Tasmania, Australia and unfortunately for those who didn't already know, our Tasmanian Devils don’t actually spin at high speed and destroy things unlike what cartoons would have you believe.

I spend my days working as an Engineering Draughtsman working on small residential projects and the occasional multi-million dollar commercial project. I started my career with the ambition of becoming an Architect. However, not everything went to plan. Which now I believe was meant to be. But more about that story later.

My hobbies include playing and listening to music, design and most recently, Amateur Radio. I've been playing guitar and bass in bands for 16 years to-date and have self-taught myself at least another dozen instruments. My next musical challenge is learning a brass instrument.

As long as I can remember, I've always been fiddling with drawing and designing. This made me think I wanted to be an Architect when I was younger. I now know that the process of creating a graphical representation of an idea is my passion.

Amateur Radio has been a new found passion (or obsession) of mine. Whether it is contesting, rag-chews or socialising the local radio club; it has been very enjoyable so far and I hope to further my knowledge in this area.

To finish up this introduction, thought I would document how I made my way to Steemit. I started out looking at Bitcoin. This naturally led to searching for other cryptocurrencies. This lead to LiteCoin. This got me eventually wondering what ‘blockchain’ is. This got me stumbling across IPFS, then dTube and finally, here I am.

I hope I am able to bring quality content in the very near future.
