RE: Hello Steemit, from the place Australia occasionally forgets

Hi James, welcome to Steemit!

What's with Tasmanian Devil anyway? I have seen the cartoon before but did not really watch or follow it through. If that is not your "real" Tasmanian Devil then what is it really?

What music genre are you up to? It looks like you're really into music to be learning to play different instruments on your own. And when you say amateur radio, do you mean being a disc jockey or something?

Thanks for the welcome. Sorry for the delayed response, I haven't been able to do anything on Steemit because of that Hardfork update.

I'm not sure what inspired the cartoon version of the Tasmanian Devil, but the real Tasmanian Devils are a small marsupial animal with black fur with white patches on their chest and tip of their tail and red ears. Whilst they are only the size of a small to medium house cat, they can be quite aggressive. However, they are very likely to run from humans. They are mostly aggressive towards each other when it comes to food (meat). The only real accurate thing about the cartoon version is that the sound produced by Taz isn't far from the sound produced by the real animal.

As for music, I really enjoy playing classic 70's rock. However, my listening tastes range from classical, to 1940's swing, through most of the rock genres and pop genres between 1960-1990 and the occasional song from today. I must admit I don't tend to listen to music made recently as I find it too similar and often over produced.

Amateur Radio is a hobby where we use transceiver radios to make contacts with other radio amateurs. Some radios look like walkie talkies, whilst others look like CB car or home CB radios. We're able to make contacts over very long distances (often the other side of the world) and we're not just limited to voice contacts. We have morse code and now more recently, digital modes that can in some ways turn our radios into a second internet allowing keyboard-to-keyboard chat and the sending of images and other data.

If you would like to know more or possibly see me play some covers (or maybe even some original music), follow me. I hope to post some amateur radio related stuff, some music related topics, the occasional joke and topics just about life in general.

Thanks again for welcoming me to Steemit!
