Beginning of the road

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Hello everybody, looks like i have messed up tags in the first post, so :)

My name is David, i am photographer and photography community founder. I have joined steemit yesterday and it took some reading to get the ropes, but so far i really like what i see and i think i am in it for a long journey.

I am also impressed by nice community and feedback i have received so far. So my big thanks for everybody. Support for an artist is very important and that is the same mission that we are with our startup www.bescouted.com that you can check and i encourage to join. We have over ten thousand members already and growing. So many nice models there :)

We are building a marketplace that will allow freelancers (photographers, models, designers and other beauty industry participants) to transact directly and avoid middlemen that take biggest cut from the job. We have also developed a tool that allows to cast for multiple talents that you need for any of your photoshoots so in case you are creating visual content might be interesting to you too. Currently we are bootstraping so user experience should improve with the time but it is functional.

Same model as above but without a cap :) She is also an amazing makeup artist.

If you have a talent to share don't hide and show it to the world. Other then that it is getting TL:DR So thank you for having me and lets learn from each other!

David

P.S. I do not know how i got those $53 but i am very grateful. I will always be converting 50/50 and the rest will go to a support of the www.bescouted.com community that we are building.

welcome to steemit! followed you pls follow back ;)

Nice Work! Congrats on a big fat upvote by someone :D
In witch areas does bescouted work? is it for a specific region?

Hah, yeah, it really gives incentive. I wish we could build similar reward system on BeScouted. But currently i lack the block chain knowledge and/or funds to hire somebody who could build it. I just can imagine how much value for the creatives such a platform would provide. Well hopefully someday..

Considering the current state of BeScouted, we have finished our MVP a month ago and originally we are based in Lithuania. The platform itself is global and we are starting to get traction from UK (many other countries too). But since we are bootstrapping the product we do not have marketing money, so we are growing by word of mouth only. It is really effective locally, but since it is a marketplace we need more people to join for it to work efficiently. well it is getting TL:DR as one comment, so if you would like to join us create your profile and message me there i will hook you up with a free membership. https://www.bescouted.com/member/10000000/Deividas-Leilionas/photographer/ We have made memberships to keep malicious users out as we do not have such a sophisticated curation system as Steemit. But you can do everything for free to quite and extent.

Yes I do think that would be the ultimate site for the creatives!

You re doing a great job! Holy shi*.... Your pictures are amazing! I dont know if my skills match the requirements jet, to be honest after seeing that. But i will look into it!

Oh, cmon @dmartinez ... it all comes with the practice. You have a great eye! And if you ever need an advice or something you know where to ask;)

I definitely will. Thanks @bescouted ;)

@bescouted,

We've already met here on Steemit but greetings are in order again. There are so many awesome photographers here, I think you'll have a blast. Your work is clearly amazing and I look forward to receiving your posts well into the future.

One bit of advice from observation (as a non pro). Astute readers really appreciate when you include technical details about what make/model of camera you used and other relevant details.

Cheers!

@freeinthought

Hi there again, looks like i know you personally :) Thank you for the tip @freeinthought i will include relevant details in my future posts, but to be honest it is not always relevant, it depends very much on the type of photography you are doing. For example for vast majority of my studio shots i am using 250/f8. And even more, i am more of a type who thinks that it is not a camera that makes a good photographer, but practice, practice, practice :)

You are undoubtedly correct @bescouted. It's just what I've observed in posts here on Steemit over the past year. It tends to lend credibility or authenticity to posts. Or at least that's the perception I think. Not really 100% sure on that though. Try experimenting with it.

I can't argue with that. It's not hard to add it looking at exif data, as i can not remember all the settings for all the images i have shot, hundreds of thousands of them. But if this helps anyone, there is no leaving this information out. Thanks for the tip once again!

Welcome to Steemit! You are going to love this place! It's incredibly awesome and rewards quality contributors in a great way! Stick around for the long term though and follow some established authors here to quickly learn and grow with the community.

Hi, i already do, it's addictive lol I am in this for a long haul. Even if it was not paying for the content it would be a nice place to be, as people I've met here so far are amazing. And if i manage to get any monetary value from this i will put it to a good cause that will help to develop my startup that helps freelancers to create content easier. Thank you for your support guys.

Welcome David. I applaud your initiative to motivate talents and to help them explore ot to the max. Looking forward to your posts. Welcome to the community.
