My Introduction post ...A new Hope for Humanity

in #introducemyself8 years ago (edited)

Hello fellow steemians! I have officially joined Steemit and am here to introduce myself to the community. I have to admit that I had some trepidation when I was first told the concept, the reasons are as follows. I'm the type of person who plays "devil's advocate" when I'm told new ideas or concepts. I am far from what you call knowledgeable when dealing with computers. Fortunately I've made friends who have the patience to break it down for me in "baby terms".

The more research that I do....the more I am amazed by what I find. Steemit provides many positive avenues for anyone on the planet. This is produced by good content from the individual and with monetary rewards. I plan on putting great quality content as well as amusing stories on Steemit. I never thought I would become a blogger but I've met certain individuals throughout my travels who do some amazing things and I plan on sharing not only their stories but to share the wealth and knowledge that I obtain through Steemit.

In closing I would be remiss if I didn't thank the individual who enlightened me to Steemit. (drum roll)

Luzcypher! Remember kids when in doubt...talk to Luzcypher....he's always looking for new acolytes....err I mean followers. I actually know him personally and watched as he joined on August, 31 2016. To be honest I am not the type of person that paves the way for people...I watch...then let the individual pave the way for me. Sure enough Luzcypher is becoming a success. He's gone from a minnow to a dolphin in just a few short months. If Luzcypher can be a positive influence on the internet...So can I!!!!! I am grateful to the founders for inventing a platform that will allow me to be successful and help others to do so as well.

Hey, @mithrilweed,

Welcome to Steemit! :) 😄😇😄

@creatr

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!! Cheers

Jaysus @mithrilweed ya can't just link a photo of yourself with that beast and not explain the photo!! WTF is that?!

(I mean welcome) :D

@beanz... lol...I helped rescue a nurse shark in 2005... I named her Fluffy... I miss Fluffy she could swim all day.

hahahahahaha awww Fluffy was a good name for a shark

Believe it or not, I know Fluffy well and have had a swim and a few beers with that exact shark in the picture. I'm pretty sure that's Fluffy as I recognize her shark pen, but you know, sharks look alike and are hard to tell apart sometimes.

Hello @mithrilweed, welcome to the community. The 1st photo, what kind of mammal is that? Is that a hammer shark?

Thank you @juvijabian.... it is a nurse shark or a type of known as "gata" in Mexico.... I helped save her after Hurricane Wilma back in 2005 near Isla Mujeres Mexico she was 3ft (1meter) long... locals and foreigners helped build the pen where she was rehabilitated back to health... that pic was taken during a check up in 2013 or 14 (she stays in the area), where she had grown near 2meters long, I believe... I called her "Fluffy" (which the locals thought amusing.) It's politically incorrect to say but I have put on my résumé "pet owner of a shark".

Amazing, if that was 2013, how long is that now?

I belive shes fully mature and will not get any "longer".... just fatter....she's a bottom feeder :-)

Me and my whole family greets you for a job well done.

Thank you and may you and your family be forever prosperous

Welcome to the cult .., sorry club.

tyvm for the welcome....hey is that Kool-Aid on the table over in the corner?

I followed @luzcypher's advice and came over for a quick hello!
Welcome to Steemit!
Here's a bit of advice I tell all the new Steemians I come in contact with. Practice the 3 Cs as often as you can.

Content creation - COMMENTS - Curation

Visit THE WELCOME PAGE for best practices and links to excellent tools to help you navigate your way through this wonderful place. Best wishes!

Thank You@mere99 for the sage advice... I will employ them in my Steemit endeavor. Happy Holidays!

You are exactly right @merej99, 3C's

I think blogging is a little like parenting. Those who assume they'll be good at it often aren't.
Hesitation is a good sign. Shows you take it seriously. Welcome aboard.
My advice to noobs - get lots of followers with insightful and supportive comments before you invest a lot of time in blogging.
Seeing the post you laboured over upvoted by both people who read it, will burn you out.
At least 30, maybe 50.
Write the blogs, by all means, but don't post them yet.

Thanks for the advice and the welcome.

I disagree personally. I say write your ass off and accept that the minnows who follow you will give you tuppence but one day those minnows could be dolphins. Whether you wait to have followers or not isn't going to change your chances of catching a whale. A post is just a lotto ticket, it's got the same chance of winning no matter how many minnows follow you. (Plus whales don't often curate comments so they won't follow you until you've already made a few posts)

Welcome indeed!

Any friend of Luz'.... needs to be watched very carefully. ;)

welcome to steemit @mithrilweed :D

Happy Holidays and thank your for the welcome @levycore

Hey welcome to steemit, you seem like an interesting individual. Good luck on here!

Thanks @apolymask.... Interesting is one of thee less colorful adjectives I've been described as...I'll take it as a compliment!

Lol. That's good you're taking it that way, cause it was meant as a compliment.
