I think blogging is a little like parenting. Those who assume they'll be good at it often aren't.
Hesitation is a good sign. Shows you take it seriously. Welcome aboard.
My advice to noobs - get lots of followers with insightful and supportive comments before you invest a lot of time in blogging.
Seeing the post you laboured over upvoted by both people who read it, will burn you out.
At least 30, maybe 50.
Write the blogs, by all means, but don't post them yet.

I disagree personally. I say write your ass off and accept that the minnows who follow you will give you tuppence but one day those minnows could be dolphins. Whether you wait to have followers or not isn't going to change your chances of catching a whale. A post is just a lotto ticket, it's got the same chance of winning no matter how many minnows follow you. (Plus whales don't often curate comments so they won't follow you until you've already made a few posts)
