Intrigued by Steemit

I am usually a reluctant poster to any social media platform. I am an avid reader, but essentially happy to be a private person. I admit though, I am intrigued and a bit excited by Steemit. It has me wondering if this, finally, is the internet platform people like me have been hoping to see? It might even prompt me to start posting some of my own thoughts and ideas - it already has.
I work in IT. I've played guitar for 30 years and I love music. I recently built my first guitar. I write my own songs. I also like to try and write short stories. Maybe I'll share some of that here?
