Steem -Turn On The Moon!

I'm so loving doing these Inktober challenges. When I start I feel totally uninspired but so far I've always managed to produce something.

Today I made a collage that ended up being about Steem going to the moon. 😁

The prompt for Day 3 (yes I haven't caught up yet) was 'roasted'. That got me thinking about the sun and the hot colours red, orange and yellow.

As with my first challenge I found a page in an old art journal that I would work as a background. It was another one which I'd used to clean my brushes on and the colours were perfect for my needs.

First thing I did was grab an old tube of red paint and fill in the white spaces.

I was hoping to use up all the paint so I could chuck the tube away but there was too much.

Next I tried to stencil some little people in yellow but the paint had been affected by the heat and was too transparent to hold the form so I tuned it into some scribbles instead. Then I did the same with some orange paint that had also suffered from the heat.

Next I applied some black gesso through a stencil and the background was finished.

To create the collage I cut up some old monopoly money and arranged it on the page.

I toned it down by applying some red ink to it with my finger and made it stand out by outlining it with a black Sharpie pen.

I added some yellow acrylic dots to the black gesso using a wooden skewer I'd saved from a Chinese takeaway meal.

I rummaged through my phrases box and found "turn on the moon" which I'd torn from some vintage sheet music. It seemed appropriate since everyone's always talking about Steem going to moon. 😂

I stuck the phrase down on top of some black tissue paper to make it stand out more and then added some silver sequins for a bit of bling. 😁
