Rachel MADdow Proves Trump Right
Well, she couldn't prove him left, now could she... Sorry, couldn't prevent that bad joke slipping from my mouth. Maybe you'll forgive me when you've finished reading and watching the bad joke that is the doubling-down on Russiagate by the so called leftist media.

I really don't like to write about actual news, but sometimes things happen that are so extreme, that I must say something about it. Things like the New Zealand shooting, the constant attacks against free speech on the Internet, or what happened this week in relation to Russiagate. Yesterday "the left" got their own Glenn Beck. Yesterday Trump was proven right in retrospect when he attacked the mainstream media and called them "fake news". You and I know that fake news comes from both sides; Fox isn't a bastion of truth either, but yesterday Rachel Maddow proved that the so called left can be just as bad, or worse even.
I haven't been able, or willing for that matter, to follow the news around Russia Gate closely, but I think we all know about the propaganda war against Trump during the election campaigns, where Clinton and the press constantly accused Trump of being Putin's lap-dog. And that the elections were sabotaged by Russian bots in order to let Trump be victorious. Why anyone would still believe anything promised or claimed by either political wing in this millennium, honestly, is beyond me. And I don't know if the world would be better of, had Hillary won; I doubt it. For years now, political campaigning is nothing more than a charade in my opinion as it never mattered who won; in the end Big Business always wins and the little man always loses.
This week, the accusations against Trump colluding with the Russians were put to rest; Trump's no saint and certainly not innocent, but he's just not guilty of, or at least there's no evidence of him being guilty of conspiring with "the enemy". The Russians were not why Hilary lost; she did that all by herself, easy-peasy, with no help required at all. Trump put on the anti-establishment robe that "the left" discarded decades ago; that's why they lost and that's why "the left", not only in America, but in the west in general, is eating itself. Truth is that there's no real left left, and in their struggle to regain some of their credibility with the common folk they long ago used to represent, they reach for desperate measures like the one deployed, for over two years now, under the banner of Russiagate.
I really don't know what to say anymore; I think I'm as lost for words as Kyle Kulinsky, the man behind the YouTube channel Secular Talk. Maddow's show has lost 500,000 viewers since her doubling down on Russiagate:

All she and her fake news colleagues achieved is strengthen Trump's position, and I for one do not believe they're stupid enough to not realize that. Whatever wacky program Trump is planning on running, his supporters can now claim that at least he was right about Russiagate and those leftist neo-Marxist bastards lied to us. i think the fact that so many trump allies were indicted for crimes has to mean something. just because they couldn't "prove" any collusion does not mean that nothing was going on, no smoke without fire and all that.
and truthfully my horror over DT goes way beyond that for me. his hand in the wholesale destruction of environmental protections, attacks on planned parenthood and women's rights, the inhumanity occurring at the wall where children are separated from parents, his bully like ridicule of people and stances he disagrees with, its a national embarrassment.
so ya no proof that he colluded. but why does that mean anyone should be obliged to stop haranguing him? did trump stop mentioning obamas birth certificate when it was no longer an issue?
why in the world should citizens let go of anything that DT does? its shady as fuck that McConnell wont release the report imho. if it would stop the infighting, why not just do it? unless there is something in there that shames his image...?
should we allow a man who is supposed to professionally represent our nation to freely mock certain citizens like a snotty 8 year old just because he is president?
to me this goes beyond collusion. we are fighting for the ethical and moral control over a divided nation. imho we would be better off in nation states than accepting the control of a schizophrenic federal government that swings from one extreme to another depending on how rich and crooked the presidential candidates are.
while i agree with your summation of neither side being Lilly white, attacking Rachel Maddow for expressing her views is, imho, way off base. you are basically saying that Foxx news is ok because we all know they spread fake news, yet you call out and ridicule the other side should they dare to do the same? double standard.
let's call this what this really is. a desperate attempt to find enough political sway to kick out a man who is a political embarrassment to our nation - according to half our nation... just like the right tried to find a way to kick out bill clinton, obama and then hillary. this is nothing more than a fucking power struggle amongst the incredibly wealthy one percent. and you are buying into it by choosing a side that is "worse" rather than recognize that the whole thing stinks.
Is Rachel "expressing her views" here? Is she informing her audience? Or is she hanging on to the narrative they commited themselves to since 2016? You're clearly "horrified" by DT, which is understandable of course, so am I, but being opposed to Trump doesn't automatically mean that the "other side" deserves our unconditional support. Fox is not "okay", I never said that and anyone in their right mind would never say that; I said Rachel wouldn't do bad as a Fox anchor, as she's no better here. Russiagate has failed. Time to move on. So your conclusion that I'm "buying into it by choosing a side that is "worse" rather than recognize that the whole thing stinks," surprises me; I distinctly remember calling both campaigns farcical, "a charade". It's not that neither side isn't lilly white; both sides are of the deepest black.
I must have done something wrong, so I'm sorry to see you're reading something here that I didn't intend to write. But if it's about Maddow specifically, in my book she's part and parcel of the whole charade and she doesn't deserve any more lenience than any other member of the mainstream media that does their part in keeping this joke alive. Like you said: there's tons of things we can legitimately attack DT on. The fact that Rachel and her colleagues choose not to, should tell us something.
And yes, of course Trump's little gang and Trump himself are a bunch of hoodlums (and so are the Clintons); that's just not the point here. So let's call it what it is indeed: a bad joke.
Did Maddow prove Trump right? I agree, and disagree. When Trump aligned himself with Fox news, one of the most biased news stations, he destroyed his own credibility by calling everything fake news. just because msnbc is the polar left to fox's right does not mean that there arent any neutral or ethical news stations.
I would need to study a fair bit of Maddows journalistic pieces and look at the history of what she writes to say that she alone is equal to the gross media manipulation of fox news. plus, how much is she a mouthpiece of her station?
dont get me wrong, i have no great love for her. what i do object to is that she is the token witch in a right wing vindication with everyone hopping on the bandwagon to diss her, as if she was the only left wing journalist pushing the same narrative. it isnt msnbc vs fox news, its that one person there versus a whole bunch of others.
is the rest of msnbc free of this narrative, or did maddow somehow take over the station and push her agenda? does she consistently do this? or is it just on this one subject? is there any reason she had to believe what she reported might be true? who pays her to speak that opinion?
and if you truly think she is so evil, why the hell were you even paying attention? dismiss her as you would dismiss fox news. I didnt see you doing any takedowns on tucker carlson or sean hannity.
what i object to isnt your opinion on the subject as much as your willingness to do a character assassination on one particular person, based on an opinion about the evidence in a report that the US public isnt even allowed to see, and an investigation in which the president, a main subject of the investigation, wasn't even questioned as far as i know.
maybe there was no collusion, or maybe there was just no PROOF. maybe there were a lot of pointed fingers in many directions.
blaming one particular person because they happened to be caught in the threads is as much gross finger pointing as this whole episode in the media.
