You can cut your cancer risk by eating organic, a new study says
You can protect yourself from cancer by eating organic, a new study suggests. Those who frequently eat organic foods lowered their overall risk of developing cancer, a study published Monday in JAMA Internal Medicine finds. Specifically, those who primarily eat organic foods were more likely to ward off non-Hodgkin lymphoma and postmenopausal breast cancer compared to those who rarely or never ate organic foods.
Comparing the participants' organic food scores with cancer cases, the researchers calculated a negative relationship between high scores (eating the most organic food) and overall cancer risk. Those who ate the most organic food were 25% less likely to develop cancer. Specifically, they were 73% less likely to develop non-Hodgkin lymphoma and 21% less likely to develop post-menopausal breast cancer.
Even participants who ate low-to-medium quality diets yet stuck with organic food experienced a reduced risk of cancer, the authors found.
This is a no brainer for me. Eat less cancer causing chemicals in your food and reduce your risk of cancer. That's what I think is going on here. Natural unprocessed foods don't contain cancer causing preservatives, estrogen mimickers, etc.
Want to stay healthy avoid these unnatural chemicals some of which have strong links to cancer. We also need to be aware of cancer causing pesticide that are used on much of the food we eat. Many of those pesticides make their way into our drinking water too. You should consider filtering the water you're going to eat and cook with to avoid these chemicals and also get ride of the chlorine and fluoride in it too.
Just being aware of the problems in processed food can make a big difference and the next time you're at the grocery store you might consider buying some organic food and justifying the cost by knowing they have a benefit in reduceing your risk of cancer.

The real problem is, many people know this things, but the junk and chemical foods are so readily available and cheap that they forgot what they'll loose(there health) and went down the chemo way.

Good to know. It’s good that you brought up estrogen as one of the bad effects of processed foods. I’ve recently read about that. Plus organic foods are going down in price constantly and becoming available in more and more stores.
no study needed here. This is common sense.
Glad you are letting others know. I always buy organic if possible.
That has been common sense and that is why as a family, we are eating from our own garden. Here is an upvote. Cancer is caused by not being healthy enough which is caused by a wide varied of things pull us away from health. People can study it and see why. It does not take a rocket scientist to get that an apple a day really does keep the Original Oatmeal Doctor Away. Have a great day. Thanks.
