My Introductory Post

Hi, I'm Idara Edem, also known as Idymal. I'm a born and bred Nigerian from the southern part of Nigeria and currently residing in Ibadan.
Often time when I'm asked to describe myself, I pause for words because I find myself and my interests, complex and try every bit to narrow it down to a specific area to say "this is me". My "this is me" is an interesting union of different areas. Okay enough of me trying to make you understand me (smiles). Career wise, I'm a scientist with a B.Sc biochemistry degree from the university of Uyo, Nigeria and I'm currently pursuing a masters in public health at the University of Ibadan.
My love for music made me major in it as a violinist, though not a whiz (winks), I'm good enough to perform in an orchestra and concerts.
Writing is a passion I engage in when the stress of academics ebbs low and also when inspired. My interest also span to painting, drawings and crafts which was my forte during my childhood as I recall pasting my drawings everywhere in the sitting room back then (laughing). I'm sometimes surprised at how much I love these (science and art) two sides of me.
I was fascinated beyond words when I found out earlier this year that I have been blessed with a little niche of spoken words poetry as I let my feelings, experiences,and observations take shape and vibrate in words.
Wheww!! Enough of the long story. This is just me, though quiet and introverted at times, I'm still fun to be around with. I live by these rules; Love God with all your heart, be there for your loved ones, do your best, finish strong, never quit, take risks ,serve humanity and make impact.
I want to thank Joshua Etim for introducing me to this platform and I intend to bring some of my write-ups here. Don't know what to do with my music here though(smiling). I hope to meet new people, make new friends and will also appreciate enlightenment about this platform since I'm a novice here. Thanks , hope I didn't bore you all.
