I will be working on some watermelons and some cantaloupe in my garden this year too. Hope my watermelons look as good as that on did.
That one was a dandy. One of the biggest I've ever grown. I like those sugar babies since they fit in the frig so easy.

Wow, 31# watermelon! That is an accomplishment. We have never had much luck with watermelons, they usually turnout very small. This year we are going to do a few things differently, so maybe we will have better luck in the future. Great Job!

I did grow this on a bit of a hill, letting the vines go downhill.
I put down black plastic and straw on top of that.
I did let just that one grow on that vine.
The others that year weren't near that big.
