The Green Grapes Experiment: Bottled

in #homesteading5 years ago

Hello my Steemit friends,

Today I will show you the juice that I had extracted from previous post and now it is ready to start fermenting. I got little juice because the grapes are not that much to begin with. So, I had to divide the juice into two portions. One bottle to the left is pure with no water or whatever and the bottle to the right is what was left then I added some sugar to it. Some says the sugar is going to be consumed during fermentation and few others say sugar is needed to yield better flavor. This is an experiment and I have to prove if all that is for real.

see how little I was able to extract. do not mind the action figure behind the bottles

These are recycled instant coffee bottles. I used some tissue to cover the bottle then secured them with rubber bands to avoid dirt and or insects from getting inside. I intend to use some cloth but this will take months I am not sure what will happen then so paper towel or tissue is what I see appropriate so I can replace them easily. Others use coffee filters which is also good.

Notice the other two smaller containers, instead of throwing the pulp away I decided to use them. One bottle has little juice then I added some sugar and water. The other one only has the pulp and just water. These two extra bottles are just for my own curiosity but they would not be necessary in this experiment.

That is it my friends I will post another blog next time.
